Fun fact: I thought about putting alt-text in the FFVI Epic, but decided against it to prevent easy copyright infringement.

That one is all pictures, isn't it? Putting alt-text there would be too much effort.

Once I discovered that one of your pages had alt-text, I hover over every other page and wait hopelessly to see if any of the other pictures do. Annoying. |
I've done this with too many articles to count.

All the video game reviews do. Some of the shorter pages, like Pac-Nihilism, don't.

And the W3C applauds your efforts!
The alt attribute is required when using an img tag in HTML.

I was instructed, by you, to replace ALT with TITLE because Firefox doesn't read ALT on mouseover. I don't think IE does either anymore, at least not by default.

It doesn't just suddenly cause seizures in random people. Either you're genetically prediposed towards it, or you're not. And only a very small percentage of the population are.

Well yeah no duh, I was more pointing out that I've never seen anyone complain about your sig, but they don't like blinking in the articles.

And besides, if you've played 90% of NES games and you haven't had a seizure yet, then you're fine.

The blinking in Syd's sig is just text, and not constantly going on. It's not the same thing.
Isn't it about time for a new one, though?

Well, seeing as you are going around fixing stuff, there are a few rogue pixels that follow president Ronnie, like the one by his right shoulder

No, over /his/ right shoulder a single red pixel trails behind him. It is just about eye-level, so look at his eyes and head left.
There is also a white one that follows him that hugs the bottom of your sig border.
They are hardly noticeable.

I see them now. That's his LEFT shoulder, guys. We could argue semantics about how is he was real and he was facing you for real, that would be his right should, but it's a goddam sprite. If I have to look at the left part of the screen, say left. Keep things simple; to do otherwise is sorta douchey.
Anyway, I'll probably take care of that at some point.

To avoid the confusion, that's why I accentuated 'his' and also included easy directions to 'look left'. Also, saying something 'trails' means it would be following behind him. I don't know how I could have said it any clearer without knowing your personal opinion on giving directions in sprite graphics.
What about a live photograph? What's the ruling on that one?

I did appreciate the accent. On an actual photo, the physiologically correct usage of left and right is quite acceptable, but not necessarily preferred.

This conversation is killing my brain cells more quickly than sniffing paint while drinking alcohol.
If it is a picture or a drawing of a vertebrate then the left and right sides are the sides of the organism, and not those of the observer. It doesn't matter if the image is in two or three dimensions, it also doesn't matter if it is drawn or captured. In the end it is a point of reference that is universally agreed upon.

Here's a better idea: describe all points of reference from the perspective of the observer.
There are two different points of reference one can use. To describe the pixel in question, you can describe it as "to the left of Reagan" (the observer's perspective) or "to Reagan's right" (the observed's perspective). It is more meaningful to describe the pixel as "to the left of Reagan", since an observer is more likely to look in the direction they're told to look as opposed to the opposite direction.
Furthermore, such rules of reference are inconsistent. What we see as Reagan's left shoulder is actually his right, yes. Consider this though: it is very unlikely that anyone would describe Reagan's movement in the animation as going from right to left. And yet, from his perspective, he is. In order to be consistent, we must make a semantic choice: either we refer to the shoulder we observe as Reagan's left shoulder and his left shoulder and describe him as moving from left to right, or we refer to the shoulder we observe as his left shoulder as the right shoulder and describe him as moving from right to left. The first option makes more sense.
Also, let's say we replaced Reagan with a cross. In that case, "left" would be assumed to be the observer's left. For consistency's sake, left should always be assumed to be the observer's left. The only time that it is ever necessary or beneficial for the observer to force the orientation of the observed is when the observer is directly interacting with the observed. For example: "You've got some bird shit on your left shoulder."
