It's kinda like Christmas. There's no concrete proof that The J to the C was born on Dec. 25th, but that's still the day that's set aside to celebrate it.

And Valentines day is lame, because even if you want to do anything, everyplace is crowded. And if you're generally non-social like my lady and I, the whole thing is either a non-event or an exercise in frustration.

Solution go out to eat at a local but not overly expenxsive (unless you want to impress her Razz ) restraunt...

Then have hot passionate.. chefs cook a delicious cake desert for you.

I realize this advice comes a little late.. but you could always just a make tommorrow be a valentines day, then it'd even be a surprise.

(This is mostly advice for the people that don't want to make of chore of something.. or you're not into the extravegence.. just go out to dinner and a movie, like you used to back when you're dating... Casual, fun.. etc...)

Then buy her an NES and a Zapper with 12 long-stemmed roses in the barrel.

Man, I did all but the roses for my girlfriend's birthday. The roses would have been a hilarious touch...

Why is this thread revived. The holiday has passed and the month in which it resides is almost over. Christ, let it die.

Next time you feel the need to waste that much money buy her something that'll LAST! Flowers are so useless and a waste of money! Where are they a week later? In the trash, that's where!

You're totally right. Tish knows what every woman wants. Cattivo, next time you want to buy anyone anything, ask Tish first. She'll know what to get them, no matter who it is or if she knows them. She'll tell you how to spend your money.

It's not dating advise, it's financial advise.

What are trying to say? I deleted the second setence in my statement, so what? (that's my interpretation of what you just wrote)

He was alluding to my post. You know, the one where I call you out for being a know-it-all when it comes to everyone else based on your zero knowledge of the situation?

Meanwhile, you post things like "And don't even bother to try talking about my financial knowledge, you don't know anything about it."

Fucking laughable.

jsut because you don't like flowers doesn't mean his bitch might not. I bought my girl flowers and she absoloutely loved them. she pressed them in a book to keep forever and everything.

Don't worry, her birthday was last wednesday and I bought her diamond earrings. Ya gotta love my bill this month, but the good thing is I don't have to buy her anything again till Sweetest Day. And if I do, that's one of the many, many reasons I play poker.

Besides, she absolutely loves flowers, so that's always a good gift for her anyway.

If she loves flowers, then that would be a great gift for HER. Most girls don't actually LOVE flowers, it's just the stereotypical Valentine's Day/Anniversary gift.

I'm definitely not giving out relationship advise, give the girl whatever you want. But, if you want a lasting impression, my opinion is to get a girl something she will be able to see for more than a week (unless she's JEW's girl and saves the flowers, which is cute, but not something most girls would do).

Good job on the diamond earrings, now everytime she wears them she'll think of you! (and they won't die in a week either!) Smile

I've gotten gifts that I didn't really like, but you smile at the time. I can say I appreciated the gesture, but I can't say I ever liked getting flowers... maybe the girls you've dated were different, and obviously we don't know one way or the other. I'll do a study someday to see what girls really want to Valentine's Day (and hey it may have already been done)...
