OK, let's do this.
This movie is based on a book by an American author, and is an Italian production. The author of the book helped write the script, but was dissatisfied with the end result and had a pseudonym put into the credits in place of his real name. There have been 3 other adaptations since the original film, with minor differences, such as taking place in New York and Los Angeles. Name the movie.

Last Man on Earth with Vincent Price. Later 'remade' as The Omega Man with Charlton Heston. Then I Am Legend with Will Smith. Richard Matheson wrote the original book, I Am Legend.

In what movie does a captured U.S. POW ironically warn a Soviet Colonel that Afghanistan will become the Soviet Union's Vietnam?
I could give more details such as the actor's name and such, but that'd be too obvious.

Next up.
Michael Biehn took a pay cut in order to star in this forgotten action thriller.

I know the answer, but want to give someone else a chance to Trivia it up. If no one gets it in a day, I'll answer.

YES!
This movie was filmed in Morocco, despite having the story set in Europe.

I'm guessing a few movies fit that criteria. I'm fairly sure Gladiator (at least some of it) was filmed in Morocco, and that takes place all over Europe.

Prince of Persia. It's either that or Casablanca. I saw Prince of Persia for a buck today at the art house that plays second run movies to fund their art films.

Klim was warm, you're somewhere in Antarctica. Like.. take Klim's suggestions, and who was the director?
