Yeah, books would be much better if they told the story by themselves, so you don't even have to look at it.

Lord of the Rings on tape...
That'd be cool. What would be even better would be for me to finish one of the books.
Or watch one of the movies.
Or just know the fucking story.

I've been wanting to read the Bible to fuel my religious debating skills. I should get one of the multiple editions of the Bible on tape/CD that he did. Who better to read the "Word of God" than the man who ideally sounds the most like him?
-----------
I'd record a book on tape, but I don't think my voice is good enough for that. It'd be neat though... I think. I'd definitely do different voices for all the characters though.

It's long and boring.
Then it ends, eventually.

There never was an image here, what the fuck are you talking about? |

It's amazing. My grandmother used to have it on tape, but it has since disappeared. I've been debating buying the CDs. But there's that new one with all those celebrities reading it. Except, I believe Zod plays God.

If that's God, than who's Satan?

So I went onto iTunes to preview the James Earl Jones Bible. I have no idea who picked the preview clip, but whoever did is an idiot.
Don't you just want to pay $19 for an audiobook that sounds like this for 18+ hours!?
Know what? He still sounds awesome.
Star Studded cast Bible:
Jim Caviezel - Jesus
Michael York – Narrator
Richard Dreyfuss – Moses
Marisa Tomei - Mary Magdalene
Stacy Keach – Paul
Lou Gossett, Jr. – John
Terence Stamp – Voice of God
Kimberly Williams-Paisley - Mary, Mother of Jesus
Lou Diamond Phillips – Mark
John Heard – Matthew
Ernie Hudson – Peter
Luke Perry - Judas & Stephen
John Schneider – James
Chris McDonald – Luke

Whoever choose that clip should begettin' fired. I begot a heart attack halfway through from laughing. "Everyone begot everyone else," would have been more efficient and save a lot of time. The begetting didn't even end on the clip. If I ever did get the JEJ Audio Bible, I'd be sure to skip that part.
The cast for the multi-celebrity version is pretty diverse and not too shabby. If it flushes out well, I may begetting it... depending on the cost.

Ancient literature is weird. They always have to say who screwed who to make who. Was it really that necessary back then to literally "know somebody from Adam"?

Y'know, I've always said that I could listen to James Earl Jones read the phonebook... and, well, this is pushing it awfully close.
