As a weapons instructor it scares the shit out of me to see guns in the hands of civilians.
The four rifle range safety rules are:
* Treat every weapon as if it were loaded.
* Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you intend to fire.
* Never point your weapon at anything you don’t intend to shoot.
* Keep your weapon on safe until you intend to fire.
Back to the topic:

we've all been through weapons safety handling courses (my dad's been shooting and hunting since he was little) personally i like the picture because we all look ridiculous
I wished I had actually got a chance to shoot the gun my dad was using (he chased a target almost all the way down the little canyon we were above)
The gun I have is my friend billy's .22. He'd gotten it just today for like 100$ and a trade in of some other stuff.
edit: my shoulder looks ridiculously high, heh. i think this was literally right after i ran out of ammo. needless to say for a 100 bucks the thing is both tiny and incredibly loud, I am so glad I remembered to bring earplugs. (i'm usually forgetful about taking anything anywhere)

Koji, I'm not trying to be a dick, but seriously...don't make me resize another one of your pictures, please. It's a pain in the ass. Make sure they're a decent size BEFORE you post.
Also, I kinda gotta agree with Ash on the cool-dude gun posing. But its not like soldiers don't do that crap too, and in fairness, I was shooting weapons way before I joined the Army. (Hunting and all that.) So I can't really talk.

the problem is they're usually pretty small on my screen after i upload them from my camera.
...but my monitor displays at 1620 by 1620
I have one of my brother doing ridiculous 'cool dude gun posing' but it's way better then the one up there.

Its okay, just use the following code to post next time:
<img src="image url.jpg" height="400" width ="600"<>
Just remove the first "<" at the end. (should look like ..."600">)

Difference being you are 1) in a combat zone, or 2) on a range. And if last time I saw a Marine (recruit) with his finger on the trigger I informed his drill instructor and he was swiftly kicked in the sternum.
But that's freedom to bear arms, at least they aren't all going hunting with Ak-47's like some jackasses I know.

no, we knew a guy who bought an assault rifle and took it for target practice, used a fifty galloon drum and missed just about every shot when it was hardly even all the way down where we were shooting at.
(which was a hubcap someone set out there. i think I have a picture of it somewhere)

Yeah, but you can shoot a buddy by accident just as easily in a combat zone when screwing around with your weapon as you can while hunting in the woods. Its stupid no matter what the circumstances.

My friend was frequently around dudes who had gone from highschool specifically into the miliatary (some of them who were just about to finish serving) who had gotten in trouble for not checking weapons and accidental discharge a lot.
On the other hand, he'd had used guns a lot as a regular civilian and always made sure to follow proper protocol and procedure. Civilians with guns shouldn't really scare you, stupid people with them should
(inb4 'thats what you are look at your pic')
done with that discussion
anyway more pics people, especially soldierhawk. i doubt that you're a hawk IRL

I know. I tried my hardest to look like one too. My hair's actually a lot shorter than that now, too. I don't think I've ever had a current picture of me to show to anyone.
