That should not pass, simply because the reason a copyright is a copyright in the first place is to stop people from profiting from other people's original work.

It is your right as an American to put something up on the internet. If it's not yours, the original creator should be at liberty to show it how they want it.

I don't believe that official music videos and the like will cease to exist, because if the companies didn't want them to be there, they wouldn't be there.

The blog mentioned even things like lolcats and such as being in the scope, how could they possible shut down everyone participating in the creation of demotivational posters and the like? That's a lot of god damn people to add in to the already staggering amount of people downloading music etc.

How does one go about doing that? Do they just buy a bunch of equipmen, hook it up somewhere and fill out some forms?
