It's damn near impossible to have any movie stay true to the comics and have it go for a PG-13 rating.

They could do it very easily basing it off the large body of works, not a specific series.
Arkham Asylum is a fantastic game, It's dark, it's gritty - it's also only rated T.
The same thing could very easily be done with a movie. Personally I think Carnage would work being PG13 perfectly, a character isn't validated by how much blood or gore he can spill on screen.
This personally goes back to an old Ghost Rider comic book, where a scarecrow esque characters makes his first appearance. He takes a mothers child and kills it, then her. You don't actually see any of it - but it's still terrifying.

Anthony Hopkins to Play Odin in Kenneth Branagh's Thor!
There’s two bits of Thor casting news in my in-tray but they’re of such completely completely different scales - think a Smurf sitting on the shoulder of a Na’vi. |

That's a big mistake, anything Anthony Hopkins has been in post-Silence of the Lambs usually bombs big time. He's a good actor, but he fucked himself over by continunally going to the franchise that made him money.

Umm dude, are you serious? Sure he has made some stinkers but he usually follows them with a movie that wins 40 billion awards.

Outside of the Hannibal movies, give me something recent that hasn't been a budget bomb. Everything he's made has been completely underwhelmed and studios could care less if the movie wins awards. I'm not denying his ability, I think he's a great actor, I love him in "The Elephant Man", "Amistad" and "Magic", but do think the Hannibal character sorta typecasted him.

Just because a movie doesn't make money doesn't mean it's not good. Shut up.

Apparently the guys who wrote Zombieland will be handling the script for Deadpool. I whole-heartedly approve of this.

I would follow the creators of zombieland to the ends of the earth, so this sounds good.

Peter Sarsgaard will be playing the big-headed Dr. Hector Hammond in the Green Lantern movie as its main villain (presumably to give us Sinestro in a sequel if the movie works).
http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Hector_Hammond_%28New_Earth%29 for your edification (I'd never heard of the guy either).

More Green Lantern movie news as I find it:
Seems Sinestro will be in the movie after all (likely to show him as a Lantern to make the betrayal more jarring) with the current actor playing him as Mark Strong. The director, Mark Campbell, says that Kilowogg, Carol Fenis, and even Tomar-Re will be present as well.

| Scott Pilgrim vs. The World has finally gotten a release date, and it is going up against Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables on August 13th. Scott pilgrim is the hotly anticipated next directorial effort from Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) and is based off of the graphic novels by Brian Lee O’Malley. The movie stars Michael Cera and according to imdb, Scott has to battle through several ex-boyfriends to win the girl of his dreams. Recently Scott Pilgrim vs. The World tested to very positive responses in Las Vegas, and with a mid-August release the film should be a great bookend to the summer. Scott Pilgrim is one of my 5 most anticipated movies of the year and I look forward to seeing it come August. |

In addition to Spider-Man, it sounds like Sony's also going to reboot Fantastic Four and Daredevil, mostly so Marvel can't get their hands back on filming rights.
