I'm thinking about starting an online petition to get Namco to release the original Soulcalibur on the Playstation network and/or Wii. It is disgraceful that you can get this only on XBox Live.

Online petitions are absolutely worthless. Companies don't take them seriously, and since it takes no effort to draw up and circulate one, and it's very quick and easy to run up a high signature count, I don't blame them. One personal e-mail is worth one hundred thousand e-signatures. And one personal handwritten letter is worth one thousand e-mails.

There are probably good reasons why the game is only on XBOX live. Maybe Namco and Microsoft have an exclusive deal. Maybe they were never able to figure out how to bring the game to PSN or Wii. Maybe they simply don't think they'll make any money off of PSN or Wii.

Send an e-mail asking them why the program isn't on the system you own. If you don't like the answer, and you're actually serious about this, try a letter writing campaign.

Sadly for PSN members, it's going to be a regular problem. Many companies are wary of using the service due to Sony's requirements, mainly involving the fact that many companies must pay Sony a certain amount of money in order to be posted on the network. Like Usa said, well-worded and professional e-mail campaigns are the best way to get it down. It gives companies that the the idea may be worth the investment.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

I said regular post, not e-mail (or I meant to, rather). A handwritten letter takes a lot more effort, therefore from a company perspective it's coming from someone who cares a lot more. An e-mail, while still a lot better than someone clicking the "I agree with whatever this says" button on a petition, is much easier to ignore. I suggested an early e-mail because it's a question, not a request.

Still, couldn't hurt to send a bunch of e-mails. Especially if you send letters too.

i thought of doing something similar, but for the game General Chaos. a remake or even just a downloadable version would rule.
