Also a note: It's not introverted people its more than likely a bunch of uppity graphic artists who care more about it than everyone else because it is their specialized field.
Let me compare it to something you may care more about. It's like the Madden 20XX of videogames. It serves it's purpose, and appeals to a lot of casual gamers that maybe aren't as interested in some of the more in depth games out there. You being a gamer, don't really like madden and prefer TF2 CS or whatever strategy game out there. I think it's silly to abolish madden, as it has a large following, but it's still looked at as an inferior gaming experience to those more seasoned gamers. |
I've never hated anything enough to feel the need to rally against it's very existence. I'm talking on a smaller scale though, controversial/life-changing subjects aside. I'm finding it hard to say exactly how I feel. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I have never hated a simple idea like a font enough to feel the need to ban it. I've never hated a game, a person, a type of haircut, a soda, a namebrand product, or really anything that didn't have any affect on me personally. I've never gone out of my way to see to it that someone who had a different idea/preference suffered or felt inadequate simply because I hated what they found to be enjoyable. I may be a kid, however I just don't see myself worrying about things like that to such a ridiculous extent.
That's just me though.

Perhaps the issue is people using Comic Sans inappropriately. Like...oh, in term papers?
Fonts are like any other element of design. If you use the wrong one, thinks look really bad. Comic Sans makes serious projects look really bad.

That's reasonable enough, however banning something as trivial as a font seems silly. It also seems like it would be impossible. Then again, weirder things have happened.

geeze, this person or group needs to start playing WoW, only so they dont waste time on trivial BS. its obvious they dont have a life already, so WoW would at least keep them distracted

Comic Sans is fine, Times New Roman and all of the serif-ed fonts are the ones that need to be abolished, I freakin' hate them.

An elegant solution. I like it.

I can see the annoyance with it. About 80% of the fliers in and around town use the font, and it gets goofy and corny-looking, but I really couldn't give a damn either way.

My solution would be for them to not use the font and avoid reading stuff written in it. It is only a font after all.

I just started reading Achewood when I got the internet back in February. I love Achewood, it's hella good. I wonder how popular it is...
Anyway, I think the font has it's usefulness. No need to try and rally against a font.

Really?
Serif fonts are very important for print media. They help our human eyes track the flow of words so that we can read more easily.

Whatever. If they ban Vanilla Whale, Squealer Embossed, Highway to Heck, or Metal Lord, then heads will roll...

I've never heard of any of those fonts, however they sound awesome.

font. |
It's one of the most popular comics available. Chris Onstad has a book deal with Dark Horse and has been signed up for columns on the New Yorker website.

I didn't know that. That's really awesome that he's doing so well. I had never heard of Achewood before, I found it completely by chacne and I love humour in it.

But Domos are cool. I ordered a pink stuffed Domo a few days ago.

They're cool and all, however the thought of them feasting on cats always sort of bothered me.

I would do this whenever I had to write an English essay, just because its a tad larger than the other standard fonts, making my paper look a bit longer, sometimes. It worked for a while, and then my teacher caught on why I was using it
