What do you guys think of characters who have puns for names? Is it clever or does it take away from the overall tone of the comics?

For instance, The Riddler's real name is Edward E. Nygma and the man who became Mr. Freeze was originally called Dr. Victor Fries. Isn't that kinda cheesy?

I. Fleecem.

Fun fact: searching for that on Google will yield the site's 100 Best NES Games article as the 4th result.

Punny names I can deal with, but when they have punny catchphrases, I cringe.

Exact quote may vary

In terms of bad puns, nothing will ever outdo Sheep In The Big City.

I usually name the women's glory hole "Va-jay-jay" or "shame hole".

Oh wait, punny names. Geez, I was WAY off.

Know what I hate? The word punny. Know why? it's not a fucking word. It itself is also neither a pun or funny.

Shit. You're right. I'm just going to lock myself in a port-a-potty at a construction site for 4 hours near the equator and think about what I've done.
