Inspired by the other high school thread.

Did you like high school? Why or why not?

I liked it. The teachers weren't assholes like junior high, I got more friends, and I enjoyed the band competitions.

It rocked. I used drugs and alcohol every day (it was cool then), skipped regularly with no repercussions, had a lot of awesome teachers, still managed to get a 3.6 cumulative GPA, and a $4,500 scholarship. I partied hardy, had a lot of sex, and felt like I could get away with anything. Those were THE days.

Same thing as drewbocop, but without the sex thing (I rarely got action, replace that with "endless nights of marathon gaming") and high grades, lol.

It was OK for me; reason I didn't place it up was because I didn't go to prom.

High school kicked ass for me, I had a bunch of friends even if I didn't drink, smoke, or do drugs (I could never get a date, though, my personality was considered too 'over-the-top' for most girls to want to date me, though there was one crazy girl that was obsessed with me. I wasn't interested.). I still talk to a bunch of my old friends, and didn't really have too many people who pissed me off. I was the guy who did his own thing, regardless of what people thought. Proof? Here's me at prom:

I should've put 'Just OK' instead of sucked. High school was just annoying. I didn't want to be there, and nobody wanted my friends or me there. We always hassled the 'cool kids' and sat at the same table at lunch and just wreaked havoc. We'd yell across the caf and our various hangers-on would whip cucumbers at the ceiling. But it was just a nuisance, and I'm so happy to be out.

Highschool sadly was the high point in my life. It carried over until about 2006. Then things progressively got worse. I was friends with the "lame kids" partied with the partiers, dated the Prom Queen from Sophmore year til the end of Junior year...If I could go back and live any 4 years of my life over and over again I would definitely pick 1997-2001. I was surprised by how many people knew me in the underclasses, we had some 500 kids in our school. Graduated with Distinction (4.12 GPA) and won the most unique and most likely to succeed awards at our Senior Banquet....good times. *sigh*

I put just okay. I wish I could go back and do it again. I would do it differently and then I could put it rocked. I would have put that it sucked except I had some friends who I only really hung out with at school and I had some classes I liked a lot. That balanced it out to okay. But most of the reason it sucked was because I was too lazy to be there. So if I could go back and right my wrongs, it would be a lot more enjoyable.

I truly miss high school. Of course, the year after I left I was like "Whew, I'm glad that shits over" but I also lived with my parents, had no job, paid no bills, and basically lived it up.

Now I'm 24 and I would give anything to be back in high school. It was fucking fantastic, and I had a great time pretty much every day I was there. God I wanna go back.

While I pretty much hated it at the time, I now realize it wasn't that bad and wish I could go back. Not because it was easier than the real world, but because I really do miss it now when I think back on it.

Yeah, I hated it at the time, but in retrospect, it was pretty good. No responsibility and just driving around with my friends wasting time. Awesome.

I didn't mind it. Didn't love it, but didn't hate it. I'm not nostalgic for high school though; if I could be any age again, it would be 10 or 11. When it was stll socially acceptable to run around outside pretending to be Link or B.J. Blazkowitz.... *sigh* I miss that.

I'm currently a junior in high school and the past 2.5 years have been absolute crap for me. It's astonishing how people start fights over things so petty and trivial...it kinda reminds me of Hollywood with the extra attention to celebrities and the "ZOMG! He broke up with her! She might be pregnant!" crap. I'm just tired of stupid incessant gossip and narrow-mindedness. I can't WAIT until college...hopefully people won't be so completely shallow and childish there.

They aren't bro. College is to me what high school was for a lot of people I think. It's really something to be at school, but with people who WANT to learn.

Unfortunately, I didn't "figure out" high school until the last half year of my Senior year.

If I figured it out earlier, it probably would have been more fun

Meh, high school was pretty lame. I put "just OK". Wasn't too bad, wasn't too great. I really wish high school would have prepared me better for college... now some one should just build a damn time machine...

some classes I was the class clown(depended on the teacher)
some classes I didn't talk to anybody
some classes people liked me alot, in some classes others didn't

it was funny because i would get up for the fact knowing that my first class would suck but I the next two classes would be ones were I could make everyone laugh the whole period then go back to being quiet for the 4th, it was a weird schedule lol

I feel alright about my high school years. I mean, I was a cool kid band geek, if it made any sense, but I never got any action (I mean, like never, nada, ziltch) until I got to college, and shit I didnt even get laid until this year. Anyways, I was a leader in my classes, but I was never given enough respect. I ate lunch with freshman when I was a senior and I guess it was a big deal to everyone then, but they were my neighborhood friends my whole life, so I didn't see a problem with it.

High School Fucking Sucked ass period. I fucking hated it. Seriously don't get me started, all I can say is that it was horrific, painful, and mentally scarring. This is evident by the therapy bills, literally.

I feel ambivalent towards the whole issue. High school was FANTASTIC as far as social life went. I was amongst the first of, not just amongst my friends, but amongst the whole student body that grew some balls in the form of confidence, and while others were busy getting high on weed or pills or skipping class to go smoke cigarettes, I concentrated on getting laid, and it's general consensus that I'm an asshole among my friends because I managed to nail girls while they were still looking up porn (though, to my and ANYONE's credit really, it's not hard, most of the time all you had to do was TRY.

Though it's probably a story for another thread, thanks to the fact that my father worked offshore and when he was gone I was literally a high schooler with my own place, this helped IMMENSELY, and I'd throw big parties, and more than once I've taken a girl to the bedroom and had one of my drunken friends barge through the door midcoitus. Now that I think about it, it's a wonder I ever DID get laid, because the fact I sort of had my own place was offset by the fact that when my father was gone, there was ALWAYS someone at my house. And they never fucking knocked once they got past the front door.

As far as academics, that's where high school shot straight down the shitter for me. I found I learned MUCH more reading the material on my own than listening to the teachers, and there's only so much ennui you can suffer in school before you start, erm, doing horribly.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas.

Everyone thought I was the kid who was going to bring a gun and/or bomb to school one day and kill everyone. So I got left the hell alone for the most part, which was nice.

Haha, people thought that about me before they knew me. Then, when they talked with me for about a minute, they were like "this guy's weird, but in a cool way." I've always been proud of being weird, and if people don't like it, fuck 'em. Twisted Evil

That's basically the same way it is with me, but it's what happens in between classes and before & after school that makes me lose the will to get out of bed in the morning.
