The parents don't even give a good reason for the names. Maybe if they said they named thier kids these names to try to remove the stigma associated with them, or something.

They wouldn't have gotten away with it in New Zealand. There is a law in place against giving your kids shitty names.

Also, how the hell is Adolf Hitler offensive? It's a damn name! Sure, it might have been taken by one of the most evil men on Earth, but IT'S JUST A NAME. Is Jesus offensive too? Buddha?

Adolf Hitler is a full name. It is a direct representation of the man who lead a horrible crusade of hatred.

Adolf as a name is fine. There is nothing wrong with it. But using a full name as described is terrible.

To be fair, I don't think there should be anything inherently wrong with the name Adolf Hitler. Just because another person had that name and was a notorious villain, I don't believe the name itself should be blacklisted.

But realistically, you've got to realize that your kid is going to have a rough time growing up with that name, so it would be wise to choose another one.

Having said all that, I still think these parents are retards. If you genuinely like the name that's one thing, but I think it's fairly obvious that's not the case with these people. They're just ignorant retards who deserve to have their kids taken away and be mauled by hyenas wearing yammakas.

I believe these names should be blacklisted, not indivdually like Adolf or Osama, but in the full name. It's still unfair to deny somebody his cake just because of his name. In my perspective, Adolf Hitler was still just a man. Sure, he was the most evil man in the world (next to telemarketers) but he's still JUST A MAN (a messed up man) and Adolf Hitler is still JUST A NAME.

To answer honestly, if I really liked the name Osama Bin Laden, then yes, I think I should have the right to name my kid that.

But as I said in my other post, I would also look at it realistically and realize that I'd be setting my kid up for a tough life. So I'd most likely choose another name.

Do we have any Psych majors in here. What's the potential damage and forth coming misfortunes this child is going to face. Not only from teachers commenting behind the childs back but employers in the future and families of potential g/f's.
