Anyone have any ideas? I use Norton Internet Security, but I should have it configured so that it lets LimeWire through. I think it's my neighbor's router, because I steal internet from him, but the guys from AT&T should be arriving to hook up my DSL today, so I hope that fixes the problem. Anyway, I'm open to suggestions (or rants about other computer programs).

No idea, but KaZaA Lite K++ doesn't work for me anymore... It'll connect for a few minutes and then lose the server. I tried like a hundred things (patches, changing the port) I found on support forums and none of them helped.
Oh, you could try changing the port. Supposedly using a port over 12000 is supposed to work better.

I use Frostwire instead of Limewire, it uses the same system but you can finetune searches to only allow certificated content.

Limewire died for me, also, about five months ago. Same problem. Just as well, as most of the files I was grabbing were packed with delicous viruses.
I just use Torrents now, and from a private site, where all content is filtered for quality.

Limewire still works for my friend Ian, but he has a version behind me and hasn't updated yet. Maybe that has something to do with the problem. Anyway, the AT&T guy still hasn't arrived with my router, so I just have to wait (shit, I've been doing a lot of that lately). How do I go about changing the port?

kazza and limewire are actuallly becoming buy-sites soon. searches on limewire for most music will pull up alot of the same results that say "can you afford 0.99 cents?"
this is because they are being shut down as free p2p sites and going the way of napster
use torrents.

Yeah, LimeWire was very unexciting and directly led to me buying mp3s nearly exclusively through Russian Mp3 sites.
