I have a friend who has lived in America for 3 years. He finally has a good grasp of American English and is beginning to pick up on current pop culture references.

I would like to send him a few video clips each day so that he can better understand references made back to the 80's & 90's.

Yesterday for example I sent him the Michael Jackson video for Thriller along with the prison video on Youtube.

I can't think of a better population to help educate him.

I think the best way to start is if everyone posts 3 or 4 videos or articles that they think captures the essence of the past two or three decades worth of pop culture.

He has a good sense of humor, so feel free to post viral internet stuff too, but nothing that came out this past year. He has seen recent stuff.

How 'bout the Rick Roll vid? That was 80's to the core.

The title was changed after this trailer came out, so it's actually American Ninja.

Also, it is the coolest movie ever.

He is from a country that used to be a part of the USSR. Something tells me that he knows about this one.

I found a movie called Ninja:American Warrior, and I also remember a movie called American Ninja with the black guy from Predator in it. The same thing?
