It's over.

Mr. Bomberman outlasted 35 others to take the crown this time around, narrowly beating Rycona in the finals, to claim the title of Forum Champion. I don't know what he gets as a prize, but I'm sure it will be nice and not blood-stained at all.

I just wanted to say a few things at the end.

*On the whole, I think this was a success. There was decent participation for the most part, we saw some pretty creative things, and for the most part, everyone had a good time.

*There were some problems, yeah. First off, I think it went too long, and there was a bit of fatigue with the whole thing. Second, well, yeah, you know, drama. I hope some of the people who were turned off by some of the drama don't hold it against the people involved, and aren't driven away from the boards in general...in any sort of contest, even a friendly one like this, things get heated.

*I had fun running and participating in this, but I'll be honest, I'm glad it's over. It was great, epic, Sydapedia worthy stuff, but man, is it draining to keep one of these things organized. I see why they show up only every 2 years.

*Next time, a better way to deal with ties is needed.

I would like to thank all 36 people who entered. You had the guts to put yourself up on a public pedestal and be judged by your peers, and that's awesome. Also thanks to everyone who voted, and everyone who tolerated this nonsense for 2 months. It was a blast and an honor to do this.

Therefore, I delcare that this forum battle is ended!

Amen to that, but the next time we do, I might have to throw my hat into the ring, if only to make campaign videos. Those seemed fun.
And I agree that there was too much drama and people taking it too seriously. Here's hoping that doesn't happen next time.

I think the original was better personally, the random added video game characters made the battle seem more for fun rather than all serious business and whatnot.

lol, just kidding. I'd really thought I'd never win this, like, ever. Especially with the fact that I posted no promos at all or any material (I was too lazy =/). But hey, shit happens. Thanks to those who voted for me.

I'll admit, the matches with Fred and Jeebs/Douche had me shook a little, but the rest were pretty easy.

Thanks to Usa for getting this idea off the ground (again) and not shooting himself in the process. But yeah, let's make this a bi-yearly thing: In addition to the SRS BUSINESS shit, I fucking hated having to check the forum every 5 minutes to see if I was winning a match or not (and I know I wasn't the only person who did that.)

Now, another thing. Can I get a custom title? If Not Sure got one for winning the NES Challenge, there's no reason why I shouldn't get the similar treatment. =p

I just mentioned that. And yeah, the first Battle was way better, even though like, 90% of the game characters lost.

It was still cool seeing which ones advanced, especially compared to board members.

Damn that paratroopa! That was a tough first round matchup. I think it was the chicken which did me in, though...

And the random gimmick matches like someone going up against Akuma and a pair of dirty socks.

I think Syd was the one who took down the chicken, but I still say Hitler beating Jew was the funniest, most ironic thing ever.

But in another, more accurate way...you're not.

The random video game characters I thought would make things a farce. And in this case, they really weren't needed...there was plenty of bracket space. Unless you people wanted another month and a half of these, filled with matches like "Hacker vs Groundchuck"

And yes, I also support a custom title for Bomberman.

....Kidding, of course. Congrats to the Bman, and a huge thanks to Usa, who ended up enduring way more stress and drama than anyone organizing a dorky forum popularity contest should have to. Much <3 to him and all the participants.

I don't think Bomberman should get a title. Come on, you can't be the Token Black AND the Forum Champion, that's hogging all of the special titles.
