This may be a long shot, but has anyone ever read any Dick Francis novels? He's a horse jockey-turned-author who writes crime/mystery style books that tend to take place around horse racing in some way or another. I just finished Decider the other day, but I've also read Hot Money and Silks. I just got three more of his books (contained within Reader's Digest Condensations) a few weeks ago at various garage sales.

At least with the ones I've read, they come off a bit formulaic, but they've still been enjoyable to me. I wonder if anyone here has read anything by him.

I have read at least one of his books, although I can't recall the title. I read it because at the time I had an obsession with horse racing (gambling). I enjoyed it but it wasn't exceptional and it's all a blur with a large group of other mystery/crime novels I have read over the years. I think in the one I read someone was killed with a teaspoon.

I don't think I've read that one as I feel I'd remember death by teaspoon.
