Took my time with it, but it didn't really matter. It's 366 pages or so in paper form. As much as I love the series, I could've done without this book specifically. If he had written it at the time and made it part of book 5, it would've made more sense,
The story itself gives more background on Roland, Jamie DeCurry and a fairy tale Roland's mother told him when he was a child. That's pretty much it. Also, don't go on IRC and ask me for the epub because I definitely won't upload it to you. That's illegal or something. *whistles*

So I just finished this last week and I have to say...I'm kind of pissed off. When I sign up for a Dark Tower book, I want the Ka-Tet. At least the new one, if not the only one.
And what did I get? A bit of this Jamie figure (who I don't feel like I know even after reading the book), what essentially amounts to a cameo from the Ka-Tet and two thirds of a book about some kid that I don't give a shit about on a drawn out quest that I REALLY don't give a shit about. It's such a waste of a book.
