I got the idea for this while I was doing puzzles last night. Essentially, anyone can post any type of puzzle here. Forum-themed puzzles preferred.

Mazes and word searches are fun when you're five, but I figured the people here might want a bigger challenge. So I've started off with a simple logic problem. PM me if you want to check your answers. Good luck!

*** SLF Logic ***

One night Valdronius was checking 'Who's Online' on the forums. He discovered that, in a matter of minutes, five different forumers, (mjkefka being one), made posts in five different categories, (one of which was Movies). From the clues given, can you determine the time each forum member posted, the category they posted in, and the topic on which they posted?

1. Exactly one forumer posted in a category that had the same first letter as their user name. Similarly, there was exactly one topic posted in a category that shared the same first letter, and one forumer whose topic shared the same first letter as their user name.

2. Ghandi made his post before the Transformers post, but after a forum member posted in Music.

3. Thunderhorse, who didn't post about Weird Al, posted exactly two minutes before the Video Games post.

4. A post appeared in General Discussion prior to the Goonies post, but later than the post by bitwise.

5. MellowMeek posted in Music exactly one minute after the post about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which wasn't in Television.

I am terrible at this (as my D&D buddies will attest), but I loved reading the puzzle itself. Very creative!

Something like this just gives me a headache.

Siderant: Puzzles in D&D are generally flawed as they are challenges to the Player and not the character. Thus, I'll usually roll a character's Wisdom or a relevant skill against a DC I decide so that the character comes to the solution.

Pretty cool puzzle. I worked on it a bit, although I've currently hit a wall.

I'll continue working on it later.

Solved.

You should set like a week time limit on these and have a drawing from correct submissions. Winner gets a signed picture of Vald!

They may not get a signed picture of me, but I will definitely post a list of people who got it right, along with the answers.

I was going to put up a different puzzle today, but I think I'll wait a little bit.

Here is this week's puzzle, WordMath!

In WordMath, each letter in the long division problem represents a letter. Your job is to determine which letter corresponds with each number, and figure out the 10-letter word or phrase.

Also, the answer for last week will be going up tonight, so this is your last chance to get on the list of awesome people who solved it.

Whoops, I didn't ever give the first puzzle another attempt...and I will be unable to complete it before the answer goes up. Sad face.

Just for you Preng, I will put the answer in a spoiler box, and add you to the list when you finish. (I may extend the offer to atma as he was working on it too).

I had to look up the rules to understand that the division is GUARDED/RULE = LENE. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do, but I should be able to figure something out.

Apparently you people don't like math very much, so this week there will be no math or logic. It's time for a CROSTIC! Don't be daunted by the size of the puzzle, I want people to attempt this. If you get stuck, I guarantee that there will be at least one person in the IRC who is working on, or finished the puzzle that can help you out. There will be no googling answers. Shame on you for thinking it!

Anyhoo, to solve this, use the lettered clues on the left to fill in the answer words. Then transfer each letter to the correspondingly numbered square in the diagram. (I have inserted word A as an example). It is not necessary to know all the words to start solving. Work back and forth from the diagram to the clues. A black square indicates the end of a word. The completed diagram will contain a quotation, and the first letter of each answer word, reading down, will spell the author's name and the source of the quotation.

Have fun! Week 2 answers coming shortly.

Solved! I'll PM you the Quotation, Vald.

Awesome puzzle; I enjoyed it. I can tell you put a lot of work into it, and a lot of the clues made me laugh when I figured them out. Thanks for taking the time.

I put together a couple of little activities for this thread myself. This one requires no math or language skills--just a little bit of spatial reasoning.

Included are five pictures. Your task is to draw a line (doesn't have to be straight, obviously) between identical avatars. You may not cross any lines already in the picture, nor any that you create yourself. Lines also cannot touch any avatars (unless they are connecting two that match).

These shouldn't take too long to complete, and each one gets progressively harder. I've included an example, and feel free to ask any questions to clarify things.

Gawd! Fine. Just stop yapping non-stop. Isn't one of the rules of robots that they can't harass humans?

This week's puzzle is a Magic Anagram Square, and it's handmade just for Klimmy.

To win, unscramble the 5-letter words in the grid to make new 5-letter words. Then match the new words to the clues, and put the number in the box. Write the first letter of the unscrambled word on its corresponding dash at the bottom. I have filled in the first clue as an example.

PM me the phrase at the bottom.

P.S. I am not putting up the answer to the crostic yet, as I want more people to try it. Those who got it right know they are right.

"Sabin" is a word? Does that mean these could be proper nouns?

EDIT: Ignore me. I overlooked the whole clues portion of the puzzle.

Congratulations to the usual suspects, Klim, NS, Fern, and Lava. I would also like to add @om*d to the list, after successfully completing the previous two puzzles.

This week we have another crostic. Go!
