Unstoppable - not a bad movie, but nothing worth rewatching. good performances all around but the story is a bit predictable.

The Last Starfighter - awesome, as always

The Thing, 1982 version. Only my second time ever having seen it all the way through, but I already /love/ this movie.

Another one that never gets old!

The last movie I watched was "Popcorn", a super cheesy horror movie from 1991.

"A "Leatherface" type murderer who wears other people's faces, kills at an all-night horrorthon at an old theatre put on by a bunch of film students... "

Yeah, not as scary as I remember.

I first saw this at the age of seven alone and in the dark. I didn't sleep for a couple of weeks.

From Beyond.

Hilariously cheesy movie all around. I love how the lady doctor somehow manages to get one of those bombs that has a bunch of sticks of dynamite with a digital timer out of nowhere. The monsters were pretty cool.

Winter's Bone. It certainly doesn't aid Missouri's image, but the cast did a pretty solid job.

I saw that for the first time about a year ago and was quite impressed with the movie's atmosphere and eerieness.

Rope - Great movie. Literally couldn't take my eyes off the screen.
Rear Window, Vertigo, Harvey, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance - All classics

And the unofficial James Stewart week continues.

I just watched "Sorcerer". When I was a kid I remember seeing the bridge crossing scene but not much else. This movie is so well crafted. It has an authenticity absent from films today. Every suspenseful scene feels real. Today they would use green screens and CGI. I have no idea how they did some of the things they did in this film. Who knew something as simple as crossing a bridge could create so much tension.

Watched Dagon last night. Real strange horror/fantasy brought to you by the same guys who brought you Re-Animator.

Watched Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil last night it was pretty funny for the most part, pretty decent movie all around. I'd watch it again.

Also watched Matilda right before that because I remember it being one of my brother's favorite movies growing up and while I didn't enjoy it as much as I remember enjoying it as a kid it still was okay for a cheesy kid's movie.

I just watched "Hardcore" (1979) starring George C. Scott. It's the 1970s version of Taken.

Watched this last night. It's a pretty good horror film. It definitely has one of the most unnerving antagonists of all time. It also has one of the most remorseless dog killing scenes ever also.

Watched what would have been a great movie called "Confession" with Kiefer Southerland and John Hurt. It was frigging fantastic until the last like, two minutes when it turned from a super interesting philosophical exploration (with a rather cool twist), into a retarded morality play.

The X Files (1998)

As a huge fan of the series it was good that they made a movie. Especially linking Series 5 and 6. The movie was just okay. It wasn't fantastic by any means but it got you thinking and it was finally good to hear some clarity on some of the phenomena occurring on the show.

What's funny about the movie is that it has nothing particularly to do with the X Files. Yes the show is called the X Files and therefore it is related in that way character and premise wise. However during the film the investigation into the X Files themselves have actually been ceased as Mulders office was burnt down in Series 5 finale along with all the case files so there is no mention of any X Files in particular. It only really investigates Aliens which is an overarching theme of the show and not a particular X File itself which is what the show focuses more on.
