Huh, you know I just checked out one of my vids and I think you're right--the cursor just doesn't show up. I have no idea why not. Maybe its a Fraps thing *shrug*. When you play the actual game, there IS a cursor there to help you aim though.

And speaking of Half Life, more episodes up. episode 13 contains a brief, shining moment of awesome in the beginning, which is quickly snuffed out by an even bigger moment of abject fail. Sigh:

And 14, in which we kick the ass of some evil, murdering paramilitary soldiers:

Haha, okay thanks for clarifying that. I was so confused/amazed at your skill to shoot those tiny alien things without a cursor. Laughing

Given the amazingly l33t skillz I've demonstrated in these LPs so far, would you honestly expect anything less? Laughing

Rolling Eyes Oh yes, I'm terribly sorry. I shouldn't have doubted anything less of your l33t skillz.

Bah, I always forget that. I guess the English teacher in me subconsciously rebels at the idea of spelling out a world entirely in numbers,,,

Funny you should mention that, I was actually planning to announce that my Doom 3 LP is canceled in favor of Hawk LPs: WordBlaster. I figure there are plenty of FUN LPs out there, what todays whippersnappers really need is ejumacation.

You really take your time when you're playing games. Take in the scenery rather than let it pass you by, eh?

As said by Tycho Brahe from Penny Arcade, Doom 3 is great if you ignore the fact that it is apart of a series....

That's a fancy way of telling me I'm too fucking slow, isn't it? Razz

But yeah, I do. I mean, I'm going a *little* extra slow here because I find it difficult to speak, think of something intelligent to say, and also play fast at the same time. Even when I am going at my normal pace though, I like exploring and thinking about things before I move on. Which is probably why FPSes have never been my game genre of choice; they don't usually let you stop and smell the roses. This one, on the other hand, does.

When I start getting into the meat of Doom 3, you'll see a (fairly) different playstyle though. I'm still damn slow because I'm just cautious by nature (and frankly, HATE having shit jump out at me too), but that game is so fucking dark that there's really nothing TO see (not yet anyway), so its pretty much just plow through it. Nothing visually of interest to note but more dark, more steam, and more shit to shoot. I'm sure the set pieces will get more impressive as we move on, but I'll honestly eat my shorts if the game throws out something even half as impressive as these Tentacles.

Haha, no I didn't mean it that way.

I do agree with you about how most FPS's don't let you smell the roses that much and that's why I was surprised how much time you took in that one room.

^ Heh yeah. Part of me always wonders if people are gonna get bored by me taking so long, but I figure they can always fast forward/skip to the next vid if it bugs 'em that badly. Personally I hate it when LPers rush through things. If I wanted that I'd watch a speed run; when I watch an LP I want to see the GAME, and hear the person's thoughts on it; not watch them show off how fast they are.

That's my philosophy anyway.

Some more Half-Life and Doom....

And a video I made for fun after the immense failure that was LP:HL 23. Quite funny if you watched the original video, if I do say so myself:
