"THE MEAN OLD NOSE MONSTER SNIFFED ALL OUR SWEET SMELLS AND TOOK THEM AWAY," SOBBED THE STRAWBERRY IN A SMALL VOICE. "WE ARE LARGE AND RIPE AND READY TO EAT. BUT NO ONE WILL WANT US NOW."
Thoughts: Why in the hell would a strawberry be sad that no one wants to eat it? Most sentient beings that I know would ecstatic if they had a 100% guarantee that they were going to live another day. Of course, I don't see why lack of smell would stop someone from eating strawberries. They might not taste quite as good, but fresh fruit is still fresh fruit. When the strawberries smell BAD, that's when you're in trouble. Miss Strawberry's situation is actually pretty ironic: usually when someone won't eat a girl, it's specifically because of the smell. That, and it's too much work. And yes, I'm well aware that the pages above don't quite match up, but that's just the way it's bound. See? It's not my fault. I feel like I've been cheated here. Did this picture really need to take up two pages? It's not really all that much different from the pictures on the last two pages. Would it have really been that hard to come up with another sentence or two to put on Page 4? I think not. Shame on you, Miss Eldridge.
