I'm tired of nobody using voice chat in online games very well. Most people are silent, and the few people that used mics end up yelling random shit or playing shitty music.

Nintendo just discontinued Swapnote without any warning, citing misuse by minors. Weird how it took them so long to notice that anything was up, but whatever. This was bound to happen given that it had no built-in moderation or reporting functions whatsoever. Still, I liked Swapnote despite all its flaws. I at least liked how often it got updated, and now it's all gone just like that.

What worries me is that sharing friend codes were part of the reason it was canned, which suggests to me that they're sticking around for some time.

Obviously kids were sending nude photos of each other over swapnote after posting their friend codes online. Kids do dumb shit.

One of the last Swapnotes I got before the shutdown was four consecutive penis drawings. I can't really take sides here.

[Edit]Apparently, at least two cases of child pornography and molestation were linked to Swapnote. The parental controls did squat to stop them. Decide for yourself if this justifies its closure.

A new Puzzle Swap was issued the day after MAGFest, one of the biggest StreetPass opportunities of the year. Thanks for nothing, Nintendo.

People who, despite scientific evidence to the contrary, still believe that video games mark the downfall of civilization and turn our children into murderers.

Why is it that no one on YouTube who starts an English playthrough of Inherit The Earth: Quest For The Orb ever finishes it? There are two complete ones there, but they're in French and German.

Was just about to finish the longest triathlon in GTA V and the power went out at my house. About a half hour of finger killing button mashing gone to waste. I am quite pissed about it.

My file on Batman: Arkham Origins refuses to load anymore, something to do with the way the interior of the steel mill is coded. My console insists it can't read the disc because it might be dirty, but I know that's a load. Did the phrase "quality assurance" somehow lose all meaning to WB Games prior to or during development?

Welcome to Modern Gaming, where every game needs to 10 patches before it works right.

Nintendo is usually pretty good about QA, but even Pokemon XY had a file-destroying glitch that had to be patched.

I think the reason they're generally good about QA is because until this generation (Wii U and 3DS), patching a game on a Nintendo console was pretty much impossible.

Speaking of patches, even though I have to get an update for my Xbox 360 almost every time I turn it on, it still crashes about one in ten times I'm playing a game (aka, a hell of a lot more than any of my other consoles).

I forgot to mention this, but my issue resolved itself the next morning and I went on to do everything the game directed me to.

Atlus games have this tendency to add voice clips to dialogue that doesn't match what's written on screen. If I hear the character talking when a line of theirs comes up, I start reading along, and then feel stupid when I find a second later that I wasn't supposed to. It's especially annoying because once every 100 lines or so, the spoken words actually do match the dialogue, and I expect the trend to continue every time. If you're going to use voice to set the tone of the line, don't use actual words. Do what Nintendo does and use non-verbal vocalizations.

Capcom announced a new Ace Attorney game that takes place in Meiji-era Japan. Apparently they have just completely forgotten that Ace Attorney Investigations 2 even exists and we will probably never see it in our language.

Capcom is deliberately forcing a sizable portion of the players to miss out on a large part of the overall story and I'm shocked that I'm apparently the only person offended by that. And yet nobody ever holds Capcom accountable for anything wrong they do as long as there's a game in production that people want. Whatever, I'm not going to play this one either then.

I don't know anyone who hasn't gotten pissed off about their antics regarding Mega Man and Resident Evil as of late.

I'm not pissed off. I really don't give a shit. I still have all of the good older Mega Man and Resident Evil games to play and that's alright. Game companies don't have to be good forever. It's normal to have ups and downs, maybe even to go out of business. Someone else will come and fill the niches if they are really wanted.

I'm really starting to get annoyed with games (RPGs in particular) that give you a ton of characters to play as, but only allow you to use 2 or 3 at a time. For example, did the developers of Final Fantasy VII really expect me to use more than 3-4 characters throughout the entire game?

The day I topped the scoreboard in Championship Mode in NES Remix 2, I previously picked up a factory-sealed copy of Chrono Cross. The next day, I started Chrono Trigger so I could begin the sequel fresh off the original. My schedule nowadays isn't the same as it was four years ago, when I last beat it, so it took 19 days this time. So I started the sequel the next day. It started out smoothly enough, but when I tried to look at what weapons and armor were for sale in Rani Village, the game just stopped, though the music continued. So I started over, only to have the same thing happen again, only after a fight this time, and every time since. It took five attempts before the game finally lasted long enough to let me save. So, yeah, It's more of an uphill battle than it should be. It's really not a good sign when you find yourself sighing with relief every time the game allows you to continue past a goddamed fight. That having been said, I have every intention of finishing this game, no matter how hard I have to struggle.

So after caving and shifting the game to my PS2, and still ultimately taking 27 days, I finally have Chrono Cross under my belt. If you at least share the last part of that distinction with me, I hope you can relate. I think I finally get what so many people were disappointed about. Whereas the first game had a myriad of endings (Only one of which I'll accept as canon), this one had the worst kind: [SPOILER:aa16471db4]None, something I thought the Squaresoft of old had considered a cardinal sin.[/SPOILER:aa16471db4]

Not since Tombs & Treasure has an ending so greatly disappointed me. As much as that one pissed me off, at least it was there and only cost me a weekend instead of four weeks less a day. And now, whenever I get back into this series, the entire experience is going to be tainted by the fact that it's all going to end like THAT. Well, at least until Square-Enix finally puts out Chrono Break, or whatever it's called.

Still, I'll give it this: It was a fun ride, and at least I finally have that splinter out of my mind after all these years.

Losing at Mario Kart 8.

It's annoying for all the reasons past Mario Karts are annoying. I should know better, but it still makes me angry. Still, because losing is so frustrating, winning is so sweet.

So apparently, I had to use the titular element correctly in order to get the good (any) ending and it's too late for me to try again because I already saved the completed file. I'll start this series again sooner than I thought, but not this year and, I hope, not for over six weeks.

I hate when people say that Nintendo rehashes franchises and doesn't create new IPs. This pisses me the fuck off for three reasons.

1. I never hear these same people criticizing Sony or Microsoft for doing the same exact thing. I mean, One of Sony's biggest announcements at E3 was Uncharted 4, and one of Microsoft's biggest announcements was Halo 5. Now, I know they both DO create new IPs, and I like both companies, but I just find it a bit hypocritical.

2. Nintendo has a HUGE amount of IPs to work with already. The fact that they have so many makes it much better.

3. They do make new IPs. Just this generation and last, they've created the Wii series, Warioware (I count it as its own IP), Nintendogs, Nintendo Land, Splatoon, Elite Beat Agents, Code Name: Steam, Xenoblade, Brain Age, etc. But whenever you bring those games up, you'll inevitably hear someone bitch about how much those games "suck" and that it doesn't. Um, yeah, it totally fucking counts. It doesn't matter if you like them or not. Your complaint was that they don't create any new IPs. Regardless of your personal feelings towards them, they do, in fact, create new IPs.

Sorry if I sound like an angry fanboy, this just annoys me.
