I know Dr. Jeebes already talked about this in his blog, but I want to know if anyone else has read it. I just got it today, the last two copies they had, and I friggin' love it. It woke up so many fantisies about being a super-hero, it's not even funny.

Just curious, but which issues do you have? Did you actually find a store that had all 4 issues in stock?

I have a few friends that have all four collectively. I really want to read through them sometime, but I'm still iffy on the movie.

The store I went to didn't have the original back issues, but they had a collection of one-three and they had four. They said that it was one of the most popular comics they have ever had which surprised me mostley because I don't know a lot of people in my city that like even the big name comics.

A lot of the big name comics don't do as well as things like this. Kick-Ass is definitely doing extremely well there. There's been 3 or 4 printings of issue one as well as the collection of 1-3. 1985 also does extremely well...basically anything by Mark Millar. War Heroes too.

Kick ass was AMAZING i just finished reading part 4 like fuckin an hour ago, except one thing i DON'T like about up to this point is how, every issue Dave gets his ass kicked at first then after he recovers he vows to give up the super-hero thing once and for all - rinse, repeat. plus they kinda strayed away from character development, because although hit-girl Is fuckin cool and kicks ass as well, part 4 was almost entirely comprised of bloody gory violence which is always welcome, but i did wanna find out more about big daddy and hit-girl Mad , but this IS the 4th issue so i cant complain yet although I hope they don't make a habit of too much violence and not enough story

Issue 4 is the only one to have a lot more violence than story, and it was still phenominal. It also developed Hit-Girl a bit, who had only be introduced at the end of 3, as well as introducing Big Daddy. If you want a book that's nothing but violence (not the bloody, graphic kind) with no real dialogue or story, go read Hulk 1-6.

If the violence is good and they dont pussy out just because its not graphic or...well... uh you know what i mean i think then thanks for the tip ill go see if my comic store i go to's got it... also Do you know when the next kick-ass is coming out, id really like to read it because yes it did take some interesting turns with hit girl and big daddy, also is it true there only makeing six parts, cuz that would suck i really like this series so far... also the movies coming out, which happened awefully fast, which is odd to me for some reason Confused but if its good which i think it will be then yay Very Happy

It's supposed to be an ongoing series, not a mini-series, and I have heard nothing about the book being canceled. As for when the next one is coming out, your guess is as good as mine. Kick-Ass and 1985 are both running late, so we won't know when it's coming out until the Friday before when we get our invoice for the next week.

Yea, especially since the violence of the comic book, gratuitous yet badass, is getting cut down. Also, this article I found on this points to the fact that Cage went in on the script before even glancing at the comics.

Super Douchebag times infinity.

Samuel L. Jackson signed on to Snakes on a Plane without reading anything besides the name of the movie, so I don't see how this is any worse. Millar also claims that he wrote the part with Nicolas Cage in mind (though he said that after the casting announcement, so it may be BS pandering)

I'm talking about his douchebaggery in terms of the screenplay being last violent than the comics. Granted, there are always going to be changes from print to screen. I just think that if you're signing on to a movie based off something else, you may want to check that something else out first making a decision, but that's probably more in respect to art than money, which is more likely to be the case.

I wonder who they're going to get to play Hit Girl. The character's supposed to only be 10, and I think even Ellen Page looks to old for that at this point.

I've not read the comic any so I may be out of line here but . . . what has Dakota Fanning been up to. By looking at detective jon kimble's sig (i'm assuming that's hit girl), all they have to do is dye her hair black and bam, you got yourself a psycho little girl.

Dakota Fanning is fucking annoying though, and she couldn't possibly play an imposing girl. Did I mention she's fucking annoying?

Excellent! The Marvel and DC websites are frequently incorrect about things that are late though, so I'd check the Diamond website, because they only list the stuff that is actually shipping this week. The list is probably up already.

Well, I went to my local comic store today (nov. 8th) and they didn't have it.

They gave me the date nov. 17th.

Issue #5 is finally out tomorrow, but through the magic of working at a store I was able to read it already. Fucking fantastic. I also really, really recommend Incognito by Ed Brubaker that comes out tomorrow as well.
