I think it looks pretty snazzy. I assume you'll take out the links to the news, petition and forums underneath your article count? Though the article counter will probably get kinda lonely by itself.
In my experience, it takes longer for the news page to load than it does for the main page. Is there a way you can adjust the news page to show only two months of articles instead of the three it shows now?
