I was wondering when either you or Haddox would start posting again, or did someone here kill and eat Haddox in a desperate food shortage? Also, I heard eating the elusive Flying Hellfish species that only appears on the internet iss known to be extremely fattening, so if anyone did eat Haddox, expect consequences  .

I don't have to be unbanned to do set reviews and there are a lot of people who shared their disappointment in not being able to read one for Zendikar with me, but being unable to post on MTGS really takes away my motivation.

i wasnt sure what you were writing (fiction, science fiction, etc etc) so it took me a second to realize what you were writing about. but thats mostly because i forgot what you said you were going to write about. so far so good.
the only thing you need to fix, is fiance.
fiance = male
fiancee = female

username, I had never said what I was writing about, but I thought use of the word "novel" implied fiction. Thanks for the feedback so far you guys, and to anyone remember I just need your impression on whether or not you enjoyed it and would read on. Don't read it like you're correcting a paper.

No worries. I never even knew they were different words and actually consulted a dictionary, but you are indeed correct so I fix that post haste. As for genre, um...dark theological comedy? (Real comedy, not like Greek comedies)

Now, I'm gonna come right out and admit it. I fucking hate first person narration. There's no real logical reason for it, just always have. That, however, was fucking excellent. The descriptions and 'voice' are excellent, and what I can see of the storyline makes it look like It'll really the reader in. If your book was published, Jeebs, I would buy it in a second.

Eddie, you may be upset then cause the voice will change a bit as we flash back to the events leading up to this, but hopefully you still like my style.
Hacker, I do not plan to include more excerpts. The main goal of posting this was so SH and I could see if our combined judgment in terms of what is worth having someone read is accurate and to see if people liked this so far. If everyone hated it, I'd either have to give up or start over, so glad to see that isn't the case.

One of the reasons I hate first-person perspectives in literature is that I usually end up hating the protagonist and their inner thoughts grate on my nerves (unless it's a Bret Easton Ellis novel and they have no internal thoughts); your prologue is an exception to this rule. The protagonist goes into detail that actually matters, and doesn't insult my intelligence in the process, which are usually the main problems I have with this style of narration. So, not only do I like the narrator of your story, but the premise sounds awesome. In answer to your question: heck yes, I would keep reading.
