Dances With Wolves, pretty good.

You mean that movie that ripped off Avatar's entire plot line? Pass.

Watched Mission Impossible 1 and 2

While 1 was decent, interesting and sensical, the second movie is so far overthetop, I can't even begin to laugh at how bad some of the shit was. I liked them both, but man...the second movie lacks everything that should be Mission Impossible. I was told to skip the third movie altogether.

Just watched the Running Man for the first time. The book was still better.

John Woo did the second one so there is definitely some cheesey ass slow motion. In particular, I remember a scene where Tom Cruise slowly walks by a door as fucking doves flap away overhead like he's Jesus Christ or something. It's definitely the worst of the series.

Mission Impossible 3 wasn't bad at all. I enjoyed it. J. J. Abrams took a turn, and it definitely gets back to the actual spy part of it rather than some over-the-top action movie. Don't get me wrong, there are still big action set pieces, but everything about it is better than the 2nd film.

The book and movie are barely alike. They only share a title and the basic premise of a guy running for his life. That's about it. I didn't even think the book was that great, but yeah, definitely better than that movie.

Yeah, I might check out the third movie, but whenever a movie like the second one leaves such a bad taste in my mouth. I mean there was WAY too much facepeeling.

My question is this, does Jim Phelps really die in the first movie? The way the shot looked, it seems like he was in a position to get away, yet he didn't show up in the sequel and IMDB says his character is dead. Really a shame, since the Phelps character was such a huge part of the original series. In fact, I don't know of any characters from the original show who were in the sequel, John Woo can eat it.

That's a big thing that he does, you look back into his filmography, he did the same thing in Face/Off w/ the gunfight in the church at the end of the movie, and before that... another gunfight in another church at the last part of the movie in "The Killer" (except The Killer was an awesome movie).

I actually like most John Woo movies...MI2 wasn't horrible, but it was a HUGE departure from the first one.

Dodds, give the third one a whirl. You'll probably like it enough where it's not a complete waste of time.

giving this thread a BUMP cuz i just saw The Human Centipede.

i dont think that movie deserves its own thread, cuz it was fucking terrible. there is no redeeming factor to that movie at all. i heard it was gross and sick, but it really wasnt. it was just stupid.

the only part that might redeem it, might be that the mad doctor, was indeed a mad doctor.

Just saw Gone With The Wind last night. I know that's pretty cliche, but since it's such a classic I had to see it eventually.

I went ahead and watched Idiocracy a few nights ago. Not too bad, good laughs were afoot and the movie wasn't so lengthy that it got too stale. Brought to you by Carl's Jr.

At our college's yearly "Award Show" best duo went to "Reb Tevye and God" for Fiddler on the Roof. So, yeah, God got a trophy.

If I Were A Rich Man
Tradition
To Life

Those are some of my favorite songs from Fiddler.

Rear Window. Picked up that movie about four years ago, it sat around forgotten until just recently. I really enjoyed it, definitely a good thriller.
