I just watched 300 for the first time and i have to say it was pretty badass. I was hoping they were going to show the battle at the very end but alas they did not.

I'm going to spoil a bit but it's more the history post-300.

The battle seen at the end, (with the large number of forces on both sides) was the Battle of Plataea.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Plataea

Which in the end, the Greeks raped the Persians . . . big time.

As for the Spartan Hunchback, named Ephialtes:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ephialtes_of_Trachis

After the Persians continues defeat against the Greeks, SH fled and a bounty was put on his head. Ironically he was killed not for the bounty but another reason the article does not cover. The guy that killed him was rewarded anyway.

And macho "God on earth who can bleed no less" King Xerxes was eventually assassinated but not before his empire went through a shitload of turmoil.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xerxes_I_of_Persia

There i thought i'd find some historical follow-up for those of you who said at the end of 300:

"Wait, that battle looks bad ass and what happens next?" and
"I wanted to see the hunchback and King Macho get owned!!"

donnie darko isnt too bad.

the crow... it has been at least 15 years since i seen it. probably longer, so this movie is a very very very vague glint in my mind. basically, i dont remember it at all.

Up until a few months ago, I had never seen the Back to the Future trilogy. Borrowed it from my brother, then bought my own copy. The first part is the best.

You think that's something, I've been putting off "O Brother Where Art Thou" for the last few years.

BttF is by far a lot older than O Brother (the movie not the actual story), plus Marty McFly is a staple in pop culture. Get with the times! Laughing

I just saw Rocky 1 and 2 for the first time, and i must ask:

Why the hell can't movies be like this anymore?

I don't me copy what has been done i mean actually come up with a solid storyline with relatable characters, a good pace to give the audience some time to enjoy the movie and not rely on special effects to pass the work as a movie.

Rocky is definatly a movie i would recommend, i have nothing negative to say other then it's a shame movies don't have this kind of quality anymore. Maybe i've been watching the wrong kind of more lately but very few dramas are made nowadays it's mostly comicbook/1980s remake/videogame movie and extremely retarded comedies.

like i said before on another forum, the longer the trend of movies tries to caytor to ADD the more ADD will spread and grow.

one last thing:

"Eat Lightning and crap thunder" - best line ever!!!

You forgot the remake of 2 year old Asian horror flicks, like One Missed Call.

I've never seen it either o.o Seen bits and pieces of it here and there on cable but I've never sat down and watched any of them all the way through. >.>

I saw Donnie Darko not too long ago, with my ex. I guess I just didn't really get it? I wasn't paying too much attention to it though. :/

Never saw The Crow either.

Youngblood.

Went to get Simons Quest and Hamrony of Dissonence, came to over 30$ so a movie was free and they had this and it's a hockey movie that I hadn't seen.

Note: If it's a hockey movie with Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze, it's probably shit.

Some of the acting was so god awful that it was funny, they clearly didn't pay attention to too many of the rules in hockey when they made this, and Dean youngblood would NEVER beat Racki in a fight.

Alright.

Oh, I saw Superbad not too long ago. I usually don't go for stupid comedy movies of that genre but I thought Superbad was pretty funny actually. I've seen it like three more times since then and I still laugh.

Why would I want to be able to speak to a douche? Razz

Besides, isn't it just a professor and a dude and a car and time travel? Can't I just read a wiki summary and call it good?

Can I watch a how to perform open heart surgery video and say I'm a heart surgeon. You need the experience that is pre-sick Michael J. Fox.

I tend not to watch movies that came out around or before I was born. Razz Except for Clue. That movie was awesome.

If it shows up on cable, I'll give it a try. How's that?

How about you go to a store and buy the Trilogy! Bleating and Babbling
The movie is a pop-cultural landmark, as well as making my aspirations to drive around in a Delorean playing Huey Lewis music much funnier to the masses. Cool

Unfortunately you can't spell "unfortunately." Embarrassed

Good god, man, 82 Wii games? What the hell? I don't even have 82 games across ALL the consoles I own, let alone one console...

... what exactly do you do for a living? I wanna know what job allows you that much expendable income that you can buy 82 games inside a couple of years. Razz

i agree w/douche. BttF is a pop culture classic. the characters and story are great. even if they are full of holes (time travel always is) but its done so well, you can overlook the paradoxes. the third part can be skipped but you will have to watch it at least once to complete the story.
