One company stole a private photo from a 14-year-old and used it as the boxcover for one of their features, and then berated the young lady when she asked them to stop.
As a matter of fact, this was the response she got from the sleaze merchant. The caps aren't for effect.
"I’M SURE BY THE END OF THE MONTH YOUR FACE WILL BE HISTORY. WE HAVE STOPPED SELLING THE DVD UNTIL COVER IS REPLACED. WE HAVE FURTHER CHECKED OUT YOUR NAME AND ITS NOT LIKE IT’S A HOUSE WHOLE NAME. ACTUALLY, REMOVING YOUR IMAGE WILL HELP IMPROVE THE SELL OF THE DVD….. SO FAR IT BOMBED."
Delightful, eh?
The worst part is that, since the young lady lives overseas, American lawyers won't touch the case, and, though the company has said that they've removed the picture, they're clearly lying, as you can search for the title of the DVD and still see the cover.
