In case you haven't heard: We're living in a science fiction movie. Sony has developed a razor thin video display (pictured) that is 0.3 millimetre (0.01 inch)-thick.

"In the future, it could get wrapped around a lamppost or a person's wrist, even worn as clothing," said Sony spokesman Chisato Kitsukawa. "Perhaps it can be put up like wallpaper."

The display combines Sony's organic thin film transistor, or TFT, technology, which is required to make flexible displays, with another kind of technology called organic electroluminescent display.

We don't know what that means, but video wallpaper brings us one step closer to Blade Runner, and that is awesome.

oh I read about OEDs a few years ago. it's like small bacteria that change colors when certain temperatures of light shine on it. how weird is that?

Yeah, and in conjunction with this, they recently discovered how to make durable, flexible microchips. It actually used kind of an ink printer, that is filled with all sorts of metals and alloys and whatnot, and there is a special kind of paper-foil that it prints on.
apperently it's much cheaper, and like the ultra thin display could be put into clothing, used on walls,it's paper thin and flexible. So,basically with both inventions,we have taken the inital step in incorperating computers into EVERYTHING. tiny, paper thin flexible computers, ultra cheap. It excites me.

Heh heh heh... I'd always wanted to tear a (TV) monitor apart. Gotta wait for this (though it might cost a little...)

Can you imagine a world where people constantly have some YTMND crap or some seizure inducing GIF constantly going on their chest? Internet retardism leaks into real life, where you can't very well ignore it.

I remember tearing a not-workin' Game Gear apart. What I saw inside it was amazing.

"How'd they put a Master System inside that thing?"
