I did not delete it. It was the dumbest thing ever.

Every Wednesday, I draft MTG at a local gaming store.

Last week, my friend Steve beat me in a way that left me annoyed.

So I tweeted that I was going to angle shoot him this week, meaning I was going to beat him even if I had to be a jerk to do it.

Here's an article on angle shooting in MTG: https://strategy.channelfireball.com/all-strategy/mtg/channelmagic-articles/angle-shooting/

It's a term that comes from poker. In poker, angle shooting generally describes behavior that is straight-up cheating. In MTG, angle shooting describes behavior that is legal but exploits the rules in very pedantic ways.

So, within minutes of me posting that I was going to "angle shoot" my friend, Twitter's abuse algorithm decided it was a violent threat and "permanently suspended" me. That's not how suspension works, but whatever.

I have appealed the decision. But while it takes minutes for the algorithm to ban you, it could take days, weeks, or maybe months, for a human to look at your appeal. I am confident that if someone who speaks English as a first language looks at my appeal, I'll be unsuspended. But I have no idea if or when that will happen.

I see Syd is still suspended. Fucking dumb.

Something similar happened to a friend of mine who said he was going to "kill" his friend in Call of Duty in a Tweet. It was reversed eventually. I can't recall how long it took, but I guess he was told that if it happened again it would be a permaban, even if "killing" was in reference to a video game.

I wonder....do people who discuss basketball have to avoid terms like "shoot"?
