I'm looking for something that I can use to watch videos, or else I would stick with my old Mp3 player.

I do want an MP3 player, though. I need something small I can toss in my pocket when I go sled dragging, or skating. One of those $40 MP3 players that read the MP3s off an SD card look tempting.

Once again, I am not knocking the conveniance of mp3 devices, I am just saying that there are alot of us who cannot justify paying hundreds of dollars just for a bit more portability than a DiscMan or such can give us.
I would buy a 40Gb+ player in a heartbeat if I had the money to spare. Though, I would use it more for a portable HDD then a music player. |
well, I'm not taking an accusatory tone here, I'm jsut telling you why I feel justified in spending that money. i DOES make a great harddrive too.

I personally have never wanted an iPod Video. Apple actually gave my entire call center iPod Videos around 1 year ago... I sold mine for $250. I'm perfectly happy with my 2 iPod shuffles... Valdronius and I can go to the gym at the same time, with our own music. He has the 1st gen. on a lanyard around his neck, and I have a 2nd gen. clipped to my shirt. They work great, skip proof, stylish, and you can get great accessories. Plus, I get a staff discount too...
Before anyone can even make a joke about it, yes I go to the gym... I have a membership to the gym at the local university. Everyone can afford to be in better shape, even professional athletes.

I'm just looking for something that I can use videos on. I'll probably get a Zune, since with a program called ZuneMyTube, you can use the Zune Wi-Fi to watch and download YouTube vids.

I still find the idea of those two idiots runnign side by side on treadmills with amtchign ipods hilarious, especially considering one of them weighs three times as much as the other.
also, claudio castagnioli is in top physical shape, and I doubt you'd ever need to see chris hero in the gym.

Treadmills suck... and just because we're at the gym at the same time, doesn't mean we're "hanging out"...

I split the gym talk into another thread. I think it could be very useful for people to talk about their workout styles, but it shouldn't be buried in the mp3 category.

I've got the 4GB Ipod Nano.
I use it primarily for running/working out so it was the logical choice over the 30 or 60GB versions.
Unless it breaks or something, I don't see myself upgrading for a very long time. It holds more than enough.

Right now, I have a 256 MB thing, so I definitely want more space. I'm probably gonna use the SD slot to upgrade if I don't get a Zune.

A friend of mine has the Zune and it keeps crapping out on him. He's had to reset the thing twice. There was talk that it was rushed out too quickly and I'm pretty sure that's a dead-on assessment.

There's no way in fuck that I'm keeping the original firmware. I'm getting a better music player, and a prog that lets me watch and download YouTube videos remotely.

I have a Sandisk 512mb I got from Best Buy dirt cheap a few years ago. I've been meaning to upgrade to something that can play video - either iPod or PSP.

I have a 30 gig Cowon iAudio X5. I love it, easy to organize, can be used as a portable hard-drive (can store any kind of file type) plays movies, view pictures, fm/am radio, built in mic, great sound, metal case. The only complant I do have is the battery life doesn't last as long as it used to. When I bought it I could get about 10 hrs play time now I get 5-6 hrs.
