I drove past a Krystal last night and saw a sign advertising new Country Fried Favorites. Being that I am brave, love grease, and hate my body, I decided to swing into said Krystal and give them a try. I picked up both Country Fried Chicken and Country Fried Steak Krystals.
I don't expect any of you to believe me, but holy crap, those were the best things I've put in my mouth in years. Strong recommendation.

I have never heard of Krystals before. I am guessing it's a regional thing. Next time I make a trip down south I'll keep an eye out for one, as I too hate my body and love grease.

Krystals is like a poor man's White Castle. Though I've only eaten at Krystals maybe twice ever, just seeing them around is super nostalgic.

Sideway, I would counter that White Castle is like a poor man's Krystal.

I guess it depends on the neighborhood. White Castle is both the nicest and shittiest fast food place I have been to. Nice one in a nice neighborhood and shitty one in a shitty neighborhood.

I like Krystal's sunrisers and i had the country steak krystals and I ate too many of them, they are gross tasting after the 5th one but they are good.
White Castle is better overall

In fairness, most things are gross tasting after the fifth one.

I love Krystal's but they just seem to be dying off. I'll keep this in mind the next time I visit one.

I've never really been a fan of Krystals. I always thought they just tasted like the frozen White Castles you can buy at Wal-mart (which is to say, a poor imitation of White Castle).

A quick search on their website shows locations only in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, the Carolinas, Tennessee, and Virginia.

I will say that Krystal's is probably better than White Castle on some objective level, but they just don't have the onion-y taste that I love from White Castle.

Also pop culture made me like White Castle more.
