Actor and World War II veteran Jason Wingreen, whose resume includes all four lines of Boba Fett's dialogue in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, dead at 95.

And let me just say that I'm honored to be starting one of these.

And thanks to George Lucas constantly changing the original trilogy, most people will just think Boba Fett was always voiced by Temuera Morrison.

Aw what? I haven't listened to the last two shows yet so I didn't know. That sucks, though not completely unexpected.

Hi-Pitch is the next wack packer to go.

Paul Bley, jazz pianist, died a couple days ago. He's not really a household name, even by jazz musician standards, but he was monumentally influential to a lot of piano players, including big names like Keith Jarret and Brad Mehldau. In a addition to a very unique compositional approach to the piano, he was also one of the first jazz musicians to take synthesizers seriously, and put out some really cool synth stuff in the 60s. I strongly recommend his solo piano album Open, to Love to anyone that wants to check him out.

Just sampled some of the tracks on that album. Very smooth, will have to check out the entirety later. Rest in peace, Paul.

He made the third-best video of 1980.

EDIT: He was just five days my father's junior. At least he had his birthday for the year.

This one hit me pretty hard. Bowie was a huge influence on me when I was growing up. Sad

I always hope that my idols can't actually die, but I was really sure that Bowie couldn't. I'm heartbroken.

And now Alan Rickman? 69 and 70 seems a bad age to be this month.
