Considering everything else he did in his lifetime, it wouldn't shock me if he actually was a Jewish comedian during the 60s.

Composer James Horner.

I was sad, but then when I realized he did the score to Once Upon A Forest, I was devastated.

Chris Squire, bassist of the rock band Yes. Excuse me while I go cry.

I am not sure if I have ever loved another album as much as I love Close to the Edge. If not the band I love the most, Yes is certainly the band I have loved the longest, and if it was sad to see a once great band spend it's twilight years in self-destruction and ignominy, it is sadder still to learn of the passing of the only member to remain constant throughout the band's volatile but often brilliant history. The end of an era. Rest in peace, Chris Squire.

Now I feel like an asshole, because I thought Omar Sharif was already dead.

Surprise, surprise. Nintendo is currently experiencing their biggest flop since the Virtual Boy and now the person responsible has unexpectedly died. Just keep in mind, if you create a product for Nintendo and its sells are low in numbers, so are your days.

I'm just surprised it wasn't another car accident. Maybe Iwata knew what was up and started taking the bus.

I was just thinking this was eerily similar to what happened to Gunpei Yokoi.

...What do we do now?

I watched this shortly after I heard the news. It's amazing for many reasons.

Football Hall Of Famer, sports announcer and husband to Kathie Lee (who's young enough to be his daughter) Frank Gifford, dead at 84. Like Satoru Iwata before him, he didn't make it to his birthday this year.

So that's two surefire entries into this year's edition of Where Aren't They Now.
