At a few points in the past, Syd has brought up the idea of touching up the website. I think that many of us agree that it'd be nice to see this place become active again, and perhaps it'd be within our power to volunteer and fix certain things for him.

I don't know much about coding, but I'd be willing to learn or at least pay someone else to take a look and tackle some of the issues, major or minor.

What do you all think, though?

I think the coding behind the website is fine. Site runs well as it is.

I'd like articles to come out regularly and then we can link this site all over so people will come more often.

There's no real design problem with the website, its the fact that its never updated anymore. If there's a regular flow of output again either old people will come back, or the site will get new fans.

TLDR; Thread #4080 complaining about lack of new content.

Things I didn't mention above:

1. I love simply designed websites like this. I'm tired of fancy looking websites that run really slow.

2. I'm tired of having a million ads on a page, possibly causing the website to be slow. I'm cool with ads, just not ads that block the content and slow the site down.

3. I'm also tired of being asked to log in. I don't want to make an account and register with my email account, Steam account, Facebook account, Google Plus account, or any other account.

4. I don't even remember, but I wish web design could go back to looking and running like this. This looks and runs great.

I wouldn't mind seeing something like weekly/monthly challenges on SNES/NES games. I could definitely find the time to participate once a month.

Back over the summer, Hacker and Probable Muppet were going to help me update the forum software. Then I got hit with 70 hour work weeks due to a strike at a competitor and I flaked on them. Don't I feel like a dick now.

I don't think we need to do anything. I find it fascinating that for like 2 years now, this place still clings to life by a string after being declared dead over and over. People disappear for months but like some kind of mystic force, we keep finding our way back. I'd like to see how long it can go like this.

The only logical explanation in this tragedy is that Lemarchand's box was somehow activated by Hacker and that Pinhead will be showing up very soon.

Several users have gone around bumping old threads. That seems to be working, and if nothing else, it's a trip to look back at the state of the board from years past.

What the fuck is wrong with the site? The buttons on top of the front page take forever to load, along with forum avatars, certain images, and the edit and quote links take forever to load, if they ever load at all. Site lags and lags, freezing my browser.

I would agree with Syd. I really like this site and there is really no reason to update the forums. There is something charming about it. Keep it the way it is. It is rare these days to have a forum such as this. Why fuck it up with fancy javascript, Facebook like icons and God forbid Twitter.

I was just a little disturbed having talked with Hacker a few days before killing himself about this very topic.

However if you ever need a javascript ninja or graphic artist for any updates I am available.
