It's not much yet, but once I get a new camera, I intend to post toy reviews fairly frequently, as well as anything related to my own work that might be worth it. For now, there are just a couple posts, one filler, one links to sites better than mine, but soon all that will change!

So, join up and report to Zarak's Barracks!

OK, this entry is actually OOPP (Other-Other People's Projects)

http://zaraksbarracks.blogspot.com/2012/04/omfg-glow-in-dark-kickstarter-project.html

See, there's a line of mini figures being made that any M.U.S.C.L.E. fan will want to check out. Wave one of O.M.F.G. (Outrageous Mini Figure Guys) came out last year in a few different colors, but right now there's a Kickstarter project underway to produce glow in the dark versions which should be incredible. The project has met the needed funding but you can still make a pledge until April 12th and as little as ten bucks scores you a set of the five GitD figures! I already pledged and will do a review of them when they get cranked out.

Also, I finally changed my blog from the default design layout.

Wait so your name rhymes with barracks? Fuck, I was pronouncing it wrong all this time.

I always assumed so. It's the name of a Japanese Transformer whose name I've never actually heard spoken aloud so I don't know for certain, but it makes more sense to me as "Zar-ack" and not "Zarh-ock."

And hell, if I have been pronouncing it wrong this whole time, I was always doing it on purpose to differentiate myself!

Back on topic (or as close as I get), I bring you a custom Lego submarine that kind of looks like a Winnebago in what may be an on going segment I call;

Gentlemen! I have built, THIS THING!

A review this time!

Marvel's Hydra Soldier Dark Threat! A guy with a really long name, really big guns and high pressure mouth wash!

I enjoyed that review. Dark Threat does look like he can fit into multiple universes.

I didn't mention it in there, but he kind of looks like he could be a set of gear from Fallout as well. The turbine back pack and quasi-futuristic weaponry would fit in with the pre-war military armor you find.

And also thanks for reading!

Yeah, it does kind of look like power armor from Fallout.

Yeah, like a prototype power armor before they developed the final heavy versions you can find in game. I put it him next to some Joes finally to see how he compares and he's just a little shorter than Pursuit of Cobra Night Adder who is a little tall for Joes and more muscular. I might add pictures of that comparison to the review later.

And I really like how that final shot of him with Cap in the foreground came out. I've seen people take pics like that a lot, but I am a complete amateur when it comes to photography so I wasn't sure how it would work, but it looks pretty good.

It's Tuesday so that means it's time for another installment of Gentlemen! I have built, THIS THING!

http://zaraksbarracks.blogspot.com/2012/04/gentlemen-i-have-built-this-thing_10.html

Another fishy submarine, though looking at it, it's not quite as cool as last week's.

Also, I may have another review up later today as was my intention, but Blogger is pissing me off too much right now.

Would you be against a different blog site? I might be able to assist you with finding one.

The Dogfish looks pretty cool. The cockpit orb windows remind me of fly eyes. I was always curious about the Atlantis sets and everything else that is out nowadays, but have yet to pick any of them up myself.

They've made a few, usually they're not that great on articulation and are oriented around a gimmick The Magma Mech had a ridiculously long, accordion arm that was supposed to grab things but really just made it off balance and weird looking. Which was why I started tinkering with that design in the first place, I hated that arm and replaced it with a second drill arm. The Fangpyre Mech was actually not bad, but it had goofy looking hands and really stumpy legs so even if I hadn't bought it solely for parts, I probably would have scrapped it soon after building it.

Also, I mention and link to Sydlexia in this post! Huzzah!

Enjoy! I'll have more coming soon, I took a bunch of pictures of stuff to review today and I have another review already half written that I need to finish.

New review is up! Transformers Cyberverse Legion class figure, Evac! Come on over and read about this Autobot and his shady connection to Singapore!
http://zaraksbarracks.blogspot.com/2012/04/transformers-cyberverse-evac.html

If you liked the Minibots as a kid, Cyberverse is basically the new Minibots so give it a look.

Also, I'm on Twitter now for some reason! @ZaraksBarracks
