Andrew Man and I frequently discuss good movies to stream through Netflix. I thought this would be a good place for people to include their own recommendations for movies that you might otherwise not be aware of. This way if you're ever in the mood for a movie but aren't sure what to watch (and you can stream Netflix through your comp or console), you can check out some suggestions. Here are a couple to get us started.
The Horde - I like zombie movies, but most of them kind of suck. This is one I saw recently that was pretty decent. Not much story but the violence and gore are pretty good. It's French-subtitled, but that never bothers me. Well-produced small budget flick.
The Host - A Korean monster flick that came out a few years ago that I heard was good, but never checked it out. I saw it on Netflix one night and took a chance. Worth a shot if you're into that type of thing. The first part of the movie where they introduce the monster is top-notch. It's a little like Cloverfield, but not so much shaky cam and I think done way better. Again, subtitled.
Five Fingers/Unthinkable - Different movies, but have similar themes. They both involve someone being captured and interrogated, so they're really more psychological thrillers than in-your-face political movies; though, Unthinkable definitely has some political undertones. Five Fingers (Laurence Fishburne, Ryan Phillipe) shows the interrogation of a Westerner by a group of Muslim terrorists, and Unthinkable (Samuel L. Jackson, Carrie Anne Moss) focuses on the interrogation of a domestic Muslim terrorist. Both are well-acted and are interesting throughout if you enjoy psychological warfare movies.
Any of the Animated DC movies - If you dig superheroes, these are all worth a watch. I particularly like Superman: Doomsday and Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. The Black Adam Superman movie is really the only one that I think was a waste of the time; all the others are fun.
Off the top of my head, that's what I have right now. I'm sure I'll think of more in the future. I'd like to hear some of your own suggestions, too.

Secret of Kells. It's got a very distinct animation style with a lot of inlay in the design. Though I concede it may not be interesting to everyone. The story involves a young monk helping to pen The Book of Kells, one of the oldest books on Irish history (Alowishus, feel free to correct me on this).

Good call, Sath. I know it got nominated for Best Animated Picture and I was unaware it was available streaming. I'll check it out.

Yeah, just give a basic synopsis of it to give people a clue if they would dig it. I do know we often have varying opinions on movies though, you weirdo.

OMG, I love this idea for a thread. I'm more interested in TV series than movies for Netflix though. Some I recommend (Not ones that you haven't heard of, but good stuff):
Battlestar Galactica (Entire series is on there!)
Dexter
Californication
Weeds
Parks and Recreation

Yeah, lots of great television stuff on there that. It can be recommended in this thread, too.
I'm starting Battlestar Galactica this weekend since I just recently saw the entire show is on there and everyone that's seen it has called me a retard for not watching it sooner. Dexter is next.
And the complete series of Arrested Development, which I have sadly only seen a handful of shows, is on there as well. I'll be doing a lot of catching up this summer.

The Room (Movie) - Greatest movie ever! Go watch it right now!
The IT Crowd (Series) - British sitcom about two nerds and their tech-illiterate boss. Pretty funny.

Also, Klimb is right, any of the animated DC films are excellent, particularly the Batman: Under the Red Hood. Good shit.

Not sure if there are any military history buffs here, but Breaker Morant is a good flick. It's centered around the sham trial of three Australian soldiers at the end of the Second Boer War. The British treated the trial as a political pawn when making peace with the Boers.

If you're into history (especially WWI), I HIGHLY recommend Fall of Eagles. It's a BBC mini-series dealing with the fall of the Austrian, German, and Russian Empires. Acting/casting is superb, as well as accuracy and sets and whatnot.

Yea, I watch a lot of history documentaries.
They added Ken Burns series documentaries on the American Civil War and WWII, both of which are superb.
They also added a Ken Burns doc. on the history of America's National Parks which was fucking awesome and inspiring.

Its not instant Stream but Generation Kill, its a mini series that was on HBO around 2007 about the marines first recon invading iraq at the beginning at the war. Its hilarious at some moments but then it makes you very sad over the course of a few scenes. Its based on a book by a Rolling Stone correspondent assigned to he the platoon. Its fucking great and very well made
