Okay, the last one went over well, I wanted to try again. This will be a collab project, and it's going to involve Sonic 2. That's right, Genesis finally gets some love on Sydlexia.com.

Here's the deal - Each of us picks a zone on Sonic 2, and we play that zone, and record it, and upload it to a shared account on YouTube. That simple.

Well, no. I must over-complicate things. Well, it's not that complicated, but I have to spell everything out. I'm obsessive.

*To sign up, tell me (via IRC, thread, or PM) you want in and which zones you want to do. Send about 3 or 4 of them in preferred order. It will be mostly first come, first serve, but all I'll guarantee is the first 10 people to sign up will get a stage to play (don't worry, #11, we may need backups), and if less than 10 sign up some people may get two.

*DO NOT SIGN UP UNLESS YOU CAN BEAT THE ZONES YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR! Also do not sign up if you just don't want to do it or don't care.

*The person with Emerald Hill plays and records their zone. Use the rom from Vimm's Lair (vimm.net) and Kega Fusion v3.64. You can do it any style you wish. Fusion has a built-in AVI recorder and I am pretty familiar with it, I'm happy to help anyone who needs it...note you need to install the custom video codec that comes with the emulator (and if you'd rather use Fraps or whatnot, go ahead).

*At the end of the zone, save a state and send one copy to the person with the next zone, and one copy to me. That person uses the state and records their zone Try not to send off a state with 0 lives or anything, if you really tanked the stage that badly, just redo it.

*Videos will be uploaded to a group YouTube account I'll be creating in a little bit. EDIT - It's here: http://www.youtube.com/user/SydlexiaCollab

*If someone wants to drop out or doesn't get their part one in a reasonable amount of time, or if someone uploads utter trash, the backup for that zone will play it instead.

*Get the Emeralds or not, it's up to you. Don't sweat it if you don't.

The zones are:

Emerald Hill
Chemical Plant
Aquatic Ruin
Casino Night
Hill Top
Mystic Cave
Oil Ocean
Metropolis
Sky Chase/Wing Fortress
Death Egg

I'll take sign-ups now, but before you do, I ask you fiddle with the game first. For you newbies, the easier zones are Green Hill, Hill Top, and Oil Ocean (Casino Night is mostly simple, but has a hard boss).

Guys, I need a list of 2 or 3 stages you want. If you just pick one, you may not get something you're happy with.

Honestly, unless someone wants to volunteer for the Sky/Wing or Death Egg, I'll probably just take Sky/Wing and pick up Death Egg too to round it out.

I'll give it a few more hours, but I think we got enough people. Note that if anyone wants to sign up after that, I can pencil them in as a backup.

Okay, here's the stage assignments. The person in parenthesis is the backup, in case the assigned person can't or doesn't put together something in time. Pay attention, for this to run smoothly, this needs to be followed pretty close.

Here are the levels (and backups):
Emerald Hill - Preng (Togdor)
Chemical Plant - SnesGuy (Sarge)
Aquatic Ruin - Togdor (Slayer)
Casino Night - Sarge (Snesguy)
Hill Top - Alowishus (Preng)
Mystic Cave - Slayer (MellowMeek)
Oil Ocean - MellowMeek (Alowishus)
Metropolis - Not Sure (UsaSatsui)
Sky Chase/Wing Fortress/Death Egg - UsaSatsui (Not Sure)

When it is your turn, here is what you have to do:
Record your part (any way you want). At the end of your part (after the "level clear" music stops, but before the next level begins), save a state (F5). Make sure you got the rom from Vimm's Lair. Send that save state to the person with the next stage, and also to me (my e-mail address is usagisatsui at yahoo dot com). You have 5 days from the time you receive the last save state to do this.

Once you send the save state off, upload it to our collab channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/SydlexiaCollab . I'll let you know the password in PM, or you can ask me or anyone who has it (Preng right now has it), but do not post it public, and do not post anything other than game videos on the channel. Once you upload it and do everything you want to do with it, be sure to log out. And of course, post it in this thread. You have another 5 days to do this. Please don't upload your video if the person in front of you hasn't yet.

If you need more time, ask for it in this thread. However, if you don't let us know what's taking too long, or take way too much time, or put together something completely shoddy, or just aren't up to it and want to drop out, your backup will take over the stage (I'll send the savestate). They're under the same rules you were. If the backup can't do it, I'm the backup backup (unless someone else steps up to fill in).
