alright its getting awfully close to the start of the regular season in the NHL, I for one cant wait for this season to start, time for my team to put a dreadful era behind them and start fresh, a new coach, new players, new management.

I'll be cheering for my Oilers all season long Smile!!

But I think this year is going to be an exciting year in the NHL

Let's assume it's a mixture of the two!

this could be their year, they do have a talented team, I want to see a washingtong/pittsburgh eastern final, that would be an exciting series, but we have a long way to go until we have to worry about that

HOOAH! I'm very optimistic about what our season looks like after watching the boys play in the preseason. They're a little undisciplined, but the injection of speed and youth we've gotten has really taken us in the right direction. I'm disconcerted that I don't know any of these kids yet, but I'm liking what I see and looking forward to getting to know them better as the season goes on.

Well if this first game against Calgary is any indication of what our boys are capable of then we have some exciting years ahead of us Smile I actually look forward to going to some oilers games this year haha.

I know it's just 3 games into the season, but my team looks like a disaster about to get worse(Sabres).

That almost made me cry. Do you KNOW how much I would give to make a pilgrimage to Rexall for a game? Man oh man.

I tell you what. If the Oilers end up in the finals, I don't care what it costs, I'm going to a game there.

This city gets pretty crazy when Edmonton makes the playoffs

our main bar district is Whyte Avenue and in 06 it was crazy, 75000 people were crammed on it, the city was covered in oilers flags, it was great, too bad we choked Sad

I think Horcoff and Hemsky are the only two players left from that team haha

God you're right. Even Smyth, Pisani and Roli are gone, and I was sure those guys were going to be institutions.

Smyth was traded because Kevin Lowe is a horrible GM, Roloson was great here but it was time for him to go and honestly... Khabibulin is fantastic Smile

Pisani just couldnt get it together with the oilers after his bout with cholidis, its sad to see him go too he has so much heart and dedication, hes still one of my favorite players

other guys I miss

Reasoner
Stoll
Greene
Moreau
Peca

but things are looking bright with the team we have now, tomorrows match against minnesota should be an intense game, they usually always beat us Sad

I guess my team is starting off well...

I'm so bananas I'm showing up to your open casket,
to fill it up with explosive gases,
and close it back,
with a lit match in it,
while I sit back, and just hope it catches.

Blow you to fragments,
laugh,
roll you, and smoke the ashes.

I'm a HUGE Red Wings fan, and Edmonton/Calgary are my #2 and #3 teams in the NHL anyways. I really like junior hockey, especially my beloved Muskegon Lumberjacks and the Plymouth Whalers in the OHL. Windsor is also pretty awesome.

You Canadians need at least 1 maximum 3 more NHL teams, the hell with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Florida Panthers!

I have a semi-respectable jersey collection going:

#19 Steve Yzerman RED Red Wings Jersey
No number 2008-2010 WHITE Muskegon Lumberjacks Jersey
No number 1985-1997 BLACK Vancouver Canucks Jersey
No number 1993-2001 WHITE Detroit Vipers Jersey
No number 1991-1992 ORIGINAL WHITE Muskegon Fury Jersey (too small for me but I still try and wear it, haha!)

I really want a Plymouth Whalers and Grand Rapids Griffins one, but both of those teams' pro shops are marked up beyond belief. Especially GR.

I would really like to see my team AT LEAST make the playoffs this year. They look like a good team, FOR ONCE. Finally entertaining hockey, it's fucking amazing.

Anyone want to guess my team?

Lol minnesota. Do they watch hockey in minnesota?

Think of the orignal six, one of those teams.
If the refs and linesmen aren't going to wrig the playoffs they should have a good chance. (Assuming they make the playoffs this year, but they should.)

The Kitchener Rangers are my OHL team.

That's pretty much the only way Colton Orr is going to score. The Leafs need to carry that good luck over into tonights game.

Wait, now that I've looked at the rankings, the Habs are first in the league?! 7-2-1 without Markov or a 1st trio that actually does something,
an incredibly shitty 8% power play and taking a crapload of penalties every game... Looks like they find ways to win out of nowhere. Very Happy

Let's see what'll happen when they play teams better than NYI.

Montreal is close to being a cup contender I think, they have a very talented core, a good captain and hopefully price can prove why he was kept by the team instead of young Halak
