and by sellout, I mean ads.
Advertising is clearly becoming a way to pay bills for internet entertainers, and as long as they aren't afraid to tell the people who complain to advertisers over objectionable content (which in turn causes the content to get less edgy and by association, less good) to go fuck themselves, I say why the hell not get paid for what you write? I mean fuck, even the Amazing Athiest, the most hated person on the internet next to Chris Chan, is getting bread for his blasphemy, I don't see why Syd can't.

He can. He chooses not to.
Several people in the past have brought up the potential value of his site.

A conversation related to this started up in the ultra-cool Abandoned Fairgrounds (join now), and it was basically a consensus that nobody would care if Syd made some extra money through ads. I'm so use to ignoring ads online that I'd barely notice them.

I use Adblock, but I'd disable it for this site and give Syd free money if he had ads.

I use Adblock and I wouldn't disable it but I'd pretend to.

Damn you sir! Damn you straight to the Hades, just like Milon says. I'm going to have that fucking song stuck in my head all night now.

If Syd flipped the switch for advertisements, I wouldn't mind. Although I think there's definitely something to say for keeping 'em off the site.
If problems came up and Syd needed donations, I'd chip in some money. And I bet a lot of you guys who have been here much longer than I have would too.
