You know what I think would be a good idea, putting the page numbers at the bottom of the page as well as the top on the main site. I always get to the bottom and have to scroll back to the top. And while I'm on the topic, I would also unlink the page that you are currently on so it is obvious which page you are on. (It wouldn't be underlined)

I think these small changes would make it more user friendly, especially for people just floating in or new users.

I am not disagreeing with your suggestion, but rather offering a workaround until it is changed:

You can press the "Home" button on your keyboard to navigate back to the top of the page immediately.

Refresh doesn't move the page.

And GP, good tip....but when I'm mousing around, I would rather just be able to click shit.

A full refresh would reset the page to the top. But that isn't the default refresh.

As for the mousing issue... The quickest way I can think of is to hold the middle scroll wheel and drag as far up as you can. That is the fastest way to scroll unless you have scroll hotkeys. Some nicer mice have those.

I remember some old pages back in the day that wouldn't let you scroll down at all...it somehow would fuck up in the loading process and the bottom of the page, as well as the left hand side of the page weren't readable.

Yeah this is all good, but kinda missing the point of helping the masses, not just me.

I thought we were talking about the main webpage and articles, not the forums.

What's so hard about "grabbing" the scroll bar and "pushing" it back to the top? It's a hell of a lot faster than scrolling up slowly with the annoying ass clickity click mouse wheel thingamajig... Confused

my mouse scroll is pretty quick, but i agree, having page numbers at the bottom would be nice.

Using my above mentioned method I scrolled down to the bottom of this post faster than it took for me to type this. Rolling Eyes Razz

yeah, but on the main page and just finished reading something, or are looking for an article, its rather cumbersome to scroll all the way down, then scroll all the way up again.

then again, thats just utter laziness on our part

Wait wait wait... now we are talking about scrolling down? That is even easier. Just keep tapping the spacebar on the keyboard. You'll be at the bottom in no time at all!

What really annoys me, is if I'm on Yahoo Messenger, if I make a typo and go to correct it, by hitting "backspace" it signs me out sometimes...real pain in the ass.

If you have no text selected and you hit backspace, it will return you a page.
