Okay, so we have one for football, so I decided to start one for basketball.

Here's the way it works:

Choosing Your Weekly Team:

You may only choose each team once. Each week you must pick a new team you have not seleceted before. So if you pick the Lakers in week one, you may not pick them for the rest of the season.

Scoring:

Everyone will have an ever changing score based on how well your team does each week. And, you points are based on how much your team wins or loses by.

Let's say your team for the week is again, The Lakers, and they are playing against the Celtics. If they win the game 98 - 92, then you got 6 points for that week. If they lose 99 - 95, then you lost 4 points for the week.

We will start the game beginning on Monday, NOV 2nd. (Next Monday.) So you have until Sunday night, to sign up, and pick your first team for next week.

The game will end at the end of the regular NBA season, and whoever has the highest point total will be the winner.

Good Luck!

Since, I just wanted to keep the first post for Rules and point totals, I started this one, to Enter myself into the game, and I am picking the Blazers for next week.

I like the concept, but I think you need to incorporate stricter rules on the teams people can choose. Your rules allow for people to rotate between 3 powerhouses and choose the one with the favorable schedule that week.

The NBA Season only has about 24 weeks, I think this game would be MUCH more interesting if you could only pick each team once. This would force people to pick bad teams which is fun to try and pick when they won't suck and when to use a powerhouse for maximum output, etc.
Think about it...I'm in either way though.

I don't know shit about the NBA, apart maybe from who should be good, but whatever. I'll pick the Heat. They're from Miami right? I always think they're from Detroit.

I wonder how much shittier the Suns will be this year? Anyways, I always hold out hope that they'll do something. But considering Amare is a free agent after this year, and the fiasco that Steve Kerr has brought to the Suns, I don't have much hope. Fuck you Kerr!

Didn't everyone like Kerr at first? The Sun's style of play is awesome to watch, but it just doesn't translate into titles, especially out of the West.

I never liked Kerr, as a player or a GM. He fucked me over with the Bulls and fucked me over with the Spurs.

And the Suns were far better with their fast tempo than they are now. They almost always finished 1st by the end of the season, only to not play that good in the post season. However look at how it happened.

First season with Nash, they get to the Western Conference championship, only to lose to the Spurs who would win the championship.

Second season, Amare was out, but they get to the second round against the Mavs who would end up in the Finals.

Third season, completely fucked over left and right against the Spurs. Nash gets busted open and isn't allowed to play for several minutes, Horry smashes into Nash and Amare and company get suspended for sitting up off the bench. Dirty plays and piss poor officiating just completely fucked them over.

Fourth season, Kerr is brought in. Marion is traded, aquire Shaq and Hill, who are both shells of their former selves. They get to the first round of the playoffs, but lose to the Spurs.

Fifth season, change coaches and offense. They don't even get to the Playoffs.

So yes, if they kept up their tempo, they might've actually worn down the Spurs or Mavs later, since they were capable of beating anyone if they played a full 48, but had a tendency to lose it. So now, they're dead in the water.

living in phoenix, i get TONS of hate for being a laker fan. anytime the lakers do anything, the suns fans jump down my throat about this and that. its annoying, because a lot of these people are fair-weather fans. they only show their colors when they are doing well, otherwise they hide throughout the season. fuck these fans. i just cant wait for the SUNS to implode again.

"If yew don't like the Phoenix Suns, yew can geet out!"

In all seriousness, the reason I followed the Suns was because it used to be a team of a bunch of level headed young guys who played exciting basketball. Nash single handedly turned that team around from a last place team to a first place team within one year, absolutely incredible.

I've never understood the love some teams get like the Yankees or Lakers or Red Sox unless you live there. There's one guy I used to live next to, who rooted for the big names because they represented what America is all about...dominating everyone. So anyone who didn't have at least 5 titles, sucked in his eyes.

Dude...I live in Cubs nation...sorta. Everyone on the eastern side of Iowa as well as central and northern Iowa all have a huge boner for a the Cubs. I'm a Cardinals fan, but I don't gloat or do anything like some of these other assholes do about a team who hasn't done shit in over 100 years. Every year;

"Hey, the Cubs went out and recruited some big talent. I think this is their year."

Then

"Wow, the Cubs are 1st place in their division...I've never seen them have this kind of season before."

Playoffs

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, don't even talk to me! This is bullshit! God, that's such a heartbreaker. Next year man, next year."

Rinse

Repeat

This also goes for any time the Bulls do anything like last year against the Celtics, and any time the Bears do anything. I love Chicago...but I fucking hate their sports teams.

Okay here's the final list for the week:

Also, since NBA teams play more than one game a week, the point total is for the entire week. Though, to be fair, only the 1st 3 games will be recorded, as some teams only play 3 times, some may play 4.)

lavalarva = Heat (Tue, Nov 03 / Wed, Nov 04 / Fri, Nov 06)
Knyte = Blazers (Tue, Nov 03 / Fri, Nov 06 / Sun, Nov 08 )
username = Lakers (Tue, Nov 03 / Wed, Nov 04 / Fri, Nov 06 )
Doddsino = Magic (Tue, Nov 03 / Wed, Nov 04 / Fri, Nov 06 )
Rydog = Celts (Tue, Nov 03 / Wed, Nov 04 / Fri, Nov 06 )
Ermac = Raptors (Wed, Nov 04 / Fri, Nov 06 / Sat, Nov 07 )

Yeah...

The NFL game is easy because it's one game per team, per week.

NBA is 3-5 games a week, and the scoring was already way off after the first week.

If you guys want to keep this up, someone else is going to have take over.
