So the NYS DIII rugby league games have started up and our school is first in the standings, which is unfuckingbelievable since my freshman year, we lost every game. I'll put some pictures up soon, but for right now I've got the standings

Good for you guys....that's kinda stupid how you can earn extra credit or lose credit for non-game related things. Imagine losing first place because you guys didn't want to go the Fall Meeting.

Currently 6-0 after Beating St. John Fisher's this past weekend. This coming weekend will decide whether or not we are going to the regionals.

I have watched precisely one professional rugby game, mainly cause it's not on TV. It was the New Zealand All Blacks vs. the.....somewhere or other Wallaby's. Most violent game ever. Congrats on your team's success!

I can't figure out if that last part is even in English. Also, keep in mind I only watched 1 game ever, so I won't get anything that has to do with fandom or the All-Blacks.

Fun fact: At least in the game I saw, the All-Blacks did not have a single black player.

Hahaha no, its not English, its Maori. Its from the Haka the All Blacks do before every game. I wasn't assuming anyone besides Slayer would actually understand the reference, I just wanted an excuse to yell about the haka since its what attracted me to the team in the first place. Very Happy

Another fun fact: Neither the Cleveland Indians or the Washington Redskins have any players of either Indian or Native American decent.

Also, I'm pretty sure my Dallas Cowboys are made up entirely of football players, with not a single Cowboy among them. Damn you false advertising!! Wink

Apparently Spike TV is starting to try to get people into rugby because they've been showing pro-league 7's and will start showing 15's on occasion.
Also at the Rio De Janerio Olympics, Rugby 7's will be Offically apart of the olympic games which is awesome.

Nice. Syracuse are dicks. I played for Oswego in 98-99. Nice game, but the practices were shit. I got injured more times in practice than in the regular games.

I played against their team last year. They seemed to be more aggressive and more angry to play against. Though they are well trained for the weather Oswego is known for.

New York... It was good just with our main fly half out with a concussion, our secondary player was out of it. Like Deer in a head light.

Fucking concussions ruin everything. Sucks to lose without your best on the field.

Well sorry for the Necro thread but with today's events, I must say we had a great tournament.

We played in the Fort Drum Blue Balls Tournament today. Granted we didn't get into the main bracket for the competition but we still played hardcore Rugby.
First game was against the Army Ranger's Club B side. We won 39-19... Let me tell you, the mouths on the soldiers were worse then anything. They tackled like puppy dogs.
Next was the Cortland B side, winning again with 24-0. Dirty players would literally PUNCH US, but that's okay... they were a D1 team and we are D3. Technically they are supposed to be better then us.
Last we played our rivals the Potsdam Polecats.... uh it didn't end well because Potsdam forfeited to us after one of our guys was injured with a broken collar bone in two place, with a piece of bone floating in his shoulder now.

Overall, despite the injury it was a helluva tournament and a great experience.

Necro: New fall league started up.
My school took on Ithica and lost in a total 56-18. In all honesty, I'm little to not surprised due to the fact that there are 6 returning players and the rest are rookies. We did good, but there is plenty of room for improvement. That being said... the bastards cheat...

Rugby seems pretty brutal with the no pads or helmet thing.
