Out of nowhere I suddenly recalled some animated series that was in the vein of TMNT (Superpowered anthropomorphic crime fighters). There were 4 or 5 of these guys, the whole series was dinosaur-based. Their mundane identities were a jazz band, but their superhero identities had them in matching, different color battlesuits. Each character had a different special ability, I remember one had a superstrong tail, another had an incredible bite, and I'm sure one had super strength. I cannot recall for the life of me what it was called though.

In other news, the original Zelda cartoons are all out on DVD now.

I remember that show too and I also can't remember what it was called. As I recall. the city they lived in had a triceratops mayor named Mayor Maynot who would always answer "I may... then again, I may not" when asked if he was going to do something.

You would be thinking of Street Sharks.

Hmmm, I'm remembering anothe rone like this with frogs in battle suits of different colors. You'd put them in red things and bounce/shoot them around. I bought a bunch at the dollar store one time.

You guys aren't thinking of the show 'Dinosaucers', are you? I don't remember any of the other stuff, but I remember it was an animated, dinosaur-based show that was pretty good. All i really remember about it was that Allosaur was the head good guy, and the head bad guy was a T-Rex with a name like Tyro or something along those lines.

It's probably not what you're thinking of, but that show was pretty damn good.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

No, not Dinosaucers (or Dino Riders for that matter), these heroes were all the same species.

Other things people have suggested to me in the past that it also isn't:

Cadillacs & Dinosaurs
Defenders of Dynatron City (which I don't think even HAD dinosaurs)

I used to have some of the Dino-Riders toys.... did they ever actually have a TV show? I seem to recall a straight-to-video movie, but not a show.

I just remembered something about my crazy un remembered cartoon show.

The characters had names after presidents, so:

Washington
Lincoln
Franklin

The fourth might have been Roosevelt, but I know those first three were names of characters.

bucky o'hare.

the end of the theme song was him saying "let's squash us some toads" or something like that.

syd, i believe dino-riders only had two half hour long videos (like 15 minutes once you get through all the commercials. the one you are thinking of, and another that came out to introduce new merchandise (the videos were riddled with tyco commercials). if they had a series i've repressed that memory for some reason. The leader of the vipers' voice was the dude that did starscream and cobra commander.

i used to watch dinosaucers all the time. my friend and i always wished they made toys for them. i remember one episode where quackpot filled a swimming pool with gelatin. some of the characters names were allo, bronto-thunder, quack pot, pleasio, stego, ........memory....fading.

Another thing about DinoRiders, it featured the voice of the great VA Charlie Adler known for the voices of Ickis on AAAH! Real Monsters as well as Cow, Chicken, AND "the Red Guy" on Cow and Chicken (of which I hated the latter, just something to know). I know this because I still have one of the two tapes (came with one of the toys I got) which happens to be white.

Well, I finally found the series out (and no wonder I couldn't find it, it was from the early 90's)

Yeah, that's definitely what I was thinking of too. My memory is a little off though. The description says that they were stand-up comedians when they weren't fighting crime, but I seem to remember them having a jazz band.
