Mezco's sculptors capture Mike Mignola's art style perfectly, it's like the characters stepped right out of the comic. I already have a 20 inch Hellboy they produced which is awesome and today I picked up the roughly 6 inch-ish Johann Krauss, known mainly from the B.P.R.D. series

If you're not aware of the character, Johann was a medium who allowed spirits to speak through him by letting them shape his ectoplasm, but during an event in the comics, his body is burned to ash while his essence is still in limbo as ectoplasm. So the B.P.R.D. creates a containment suit for him with a see-though bubble head and nozzles in his gloves that allow him to extrude ectoplasmic extensions from himself.

So anyway, the figure...
He's got great articulation, great detail, crisp paint job and the perfect accessories; just two alternate hands showcasing his ectoplasm abilities. His extra right hand has an ectoplasmic hand extending from his gloves' finger nozzles (which is what he has equipped in the picture), his left an extension that forms into a screaming, bearded human face (an ability he does use in the comics, projecting apparitions to frighten enemies.) He has a lot of pouches and canisters across his belt and flak jacket and a great B.P.R.D. logo on his back.

I just think he's pretty sweet so I thought I'd share.

I think he is, but I'm not sure. And well, when does ectoplasm not remind you of snot? Except in Ghostbusters II where it's bright pink but whatever.

Wow, Johann's movie design is stupid looking. Why would they choose a bulky, 30's era deep-sea diving suit look over the simple containment suit with a jumpsuit over that with boots and flak jacket over that he wears in the comic? That looks way better and more realistic than all those extra valves and armor plates.
