anyone ever heard of these things? They're some kind of action figure that has a new kind of joint that makes them super poseable without looking like shit. I did a little searching and found that they mostly do mecha, but there are a few cool exceptions. I also discovered that I used to have one of these (EVA Unit-02) and it was the coolest figure ever until I broke it.

here's an explanation of that joint. It's very informitave:

so being a manic person, what did I do upon (re)discovering these? I hit ebay. I think I spent like three hundred dollars on these things, and damn are they expensive! it's only now hitting me that I just spent upwards of thirty dollars a pop on a bunch of toy robots and plastic girls.

oh it's worth it.

Yeah, these things have been out for awhile.

Optimus Prime and Megatron are especially badass. Action Masters done right.

Saber is pretty awesome, too.

yeah I got optimus, starscream, megatron, all three evas, the eva mass production type with the wings, eva 01 with the G type gear, saber, dark saber, rin tosaka, dante, mazinger Z, a patlabor dude, and the two female eva pilots. I probably shouldn't have.

the fate stay-night characters look really awesome. I just wish they would have made archer instead of dark saber. I hear some street fighter guys are being made too.

What's the mecha at the bottom of the first post? It keeps reminding me of the Armor of Inferno from Ronin Warriors.

I want the Starscream, Yotsuba, and I forget his name, but the cardboard box guy. Those are all really cool.

Yeah, I had two model kits that I broke, and a DeathScythe Hell Custom action figure that I broke. I also tore apart one of those 14" Wing Gundam figures, but a few years ago I was able to find and salvage everything but the beam saber. It's sitting on top of my monitor in almost perfect condition, aside from the aforementioned beam saber. And now the damn things are so hard to find. There was only one store that sold the model kits around here, and they just stopped selling them. The only one I was able to buy from them was a GM Custom, since I didn't have a job when they were selling them.

I hate the 1:144 scale gundams because the face of the head has always been a pain for me, especially when applying the decals and getting them to stick.

I've had 3 Gundam model kits:
* SD Musha Gundam Mk. IV (BB-208)
* High Grade Fighting Action Wing Zero Custom
* Deathscythe Hell Custom (but the damn thing's shoulder/upper arm connectors were too narrow [or the sockets were too wide] so it wound up like a Deathscythe Hell de Milo).

Call me a sadist, but I'd like to own and complete at least one 1:60 kit.

The Wing Gundam I have is this one here, by the way. The eyes were already painted on.

Heavyarms was my favorite, and I went through like 6 model kits because some asshole kids would always come to my house and play with it.

I remember when I was around 10 or 11 I had a Wing Zero kit and a DeathScythe kit. They didn't last a week.

We just got in a bunch of gundams for Wing, 00, and... some random big ones that I don't know. Some kind of KA Unicorn or something?

Isn't it funny they do all this joint shit on action figures, yet they never apply this to artificial limbs for people who lost theirs.

Because the limbs have to move in response to someone's muscle movements. I don't see how the revoltech joint would help. Actually, I think it would hinder their movement.

And I might have to pick up that Patlabor figure.

I picked up Danboard, finally. I was on the fence until I saw that his eyes light up:
