Yeah, it's also an unlockable game on one of the Sonic collections for GameCube, which is how I played it. Funky game.

Yes! I played that game all the time when I was younger, such a great game. I agree with Tebor on the music. I can actually remember the music world's music right off the top of my head. Now that you've brought it up, I want to go back and play it now, and I think I will tomorrow, since I own it for the Genesis.

Talking of inspiring, I've decided to spend my night doing nothing but trying to unlock that game on Sonic Mega Collection Plus.

I did play it today after work and was able to beat it, and it was just as great as I remember, and the music was just as awesome. The only thing I didn't remember was the last boss being so damn tough, I had to use two continues at him alone! I used 0 the rest of the game...

Side-Scroller game, and to kill your enemies Ristar shoots out his arms and grabs them throwing his body into them. Also, when you shoot out your arms you can grab bars, and such to spin on, or pick certain objects up and carry them. Pretty amazing game.

Since he hasn't used it in years I've taken it over for myself on this message board. I consider it a shout out to my favorite wrestler of all time, and probably the greatest wrestling name of all time. To bad he didn't use it on the WWE, oh well, Edge is still a good name.
Actually, I did have the name "IGAmazingBob" which I created all on my own, but when the "hacker" took over the site on May 31st, I made a new name so he couldn't take it over. I created this one instead, and just stuck with it.

I like the name, I too am a fan of Edge, have been since his WWE debut years ago. Hacker stole your name or effect the entire board?

It wasn't really a hacker, it was just Syd doing an April Fool's joke, but I thought it was a real one and was worried he would hack into my name and get my real E-Mail adress with I didn't want. I was using the name IGAmazingBob at the time, and I changed my E-Mail to a generic Yahoo one I created, but when you change an E-Mail on this you need to respond to it, and I did something wrong along the way and couldn't get back into my name so I created this one to use and just stuck with it. You can read all about his prank here http://www.sydlexia.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=462

Good luck. You have to start, then quit every Genesis game on the disc 30 times. You will unlock most of the other secret games by doing this though.
It's totally worth it. The game looks like a PS1 game, despite it being on a system with half the power. It's also incredibly fun.

What's on the Plus collection that's not on the original release? Comix Zone?

As far as I know, yes.
Oh, and the Game Gear games.
One of which is simply a lesser version of a game that's ALREADY ON THE ORIGINAL.
(It's Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, if you're interested.)

Oh, ok. Plus, the GG games are all on Sonic Adventure DX anyway.

However, if you only own a GameCube, you can also get the Sonic Gems Collection which, combined with the Mega Collection, pretty much gives you every Sonic game and then some.

Yeah, no real reason to get another version.
