I'm all about free speech, and I'm cool discussing viewpoints other than my own on nearly any subject. But RegalSin has single-handedly begun to ruin this entire forum for me, and probably for some of you. Every thread he touches turns to shit, and every thread he starts devolves from nonsense to animosity, and it's always his fault.

I come to this forum to exchange ideas, to share some laughs and info. I like hearing about Press Start. I've been friends with Syd and Jeebus since I was in 2nd grade. We bust each other's balls on the site. Tebor and Valdy have been on the forums as long as I have and they have been fanatical on seeing it succeed. Nearly everyone on here have been great for this site. We're like a disgruntled mini-group of forum fun. And Regal is ruining it for me.

I like to be the voice of reason here; I think you all know me as pretty mild-mannered and jovial, but I can't help but hope Regal's computer dies and he can't get online ever again. And I don't want to feel that way when I log in. So I'm proposing that Syd boots him once and for all.

If you guys are with me, let me know. If you think I'm way off base, let me know that too. But this guy is fucking with my fun, and I don't like it.

But since the issue has been forced, let's see where it goes.

I kinda enjoy his inane posts, but sometimes he crosses a line. I think he should just be modded a little more carefully. Maybe we could put him on permanent probation or something?

Even though I've just started posting here, I've been coming to this site for a while and been reading the boards since they first opened. I just never registered since I was never a big message board type person, but the whole April Fools thing (which I thought was real) made me register to show support. Anyway, I agree 100% with S. McCracken. I wouldn't care if he never came back. I thought of posting a topic simliar to this, but didn't bother since I am pretty new around here I didn't think any one would pay attention, and thought I might be the only one who thought it, but apparently McCracken thinks the same way. When RegalSin completely changes the E3 thread to what he changed it to, its ridiculously obnoxious, and he does it to basically every thread he posts on.

I don't post here much, but I guess I should voice my opinion anyways.

Well after seeing his other topic that he started in internets, it does seem like he gets off on spamming incoherent drivel on forums and just out-and-out annoying people. This would constitute his banning, at least in my opinion.

But maybe that's a little too harsh....maybe. Personally, if it were my decision, I'd temporarily ban him for a week. If he learns his lesson after that period, great, problem solved. However, if he continues to pull the same bullshit and piss everyone off even after having a little time-out, then I say send him fucking packing permanently.

Even though I am not *technically* a real person, I think Regal needs to go.

NOTE TO SYD: You are currently in the middle of a psychotic break. You need to try and get at least 6 hours of sleep each night.

Actually, I agree with Chrisby. A Temporary ban would be better I think, than if it happens again, have it be forever.

I have to agree with getting rid of this guy. just reading his posts when i was in england kinda made me want to come back less. I know the pains of dealing with an incoherant asshole on forums,and this guy seems to want to get people going and ruin topics, so I say before it gets out of hand,just get rid of him.

Well, I find him annoying most of the time, but I think banning him might be too extreme. I like Tebor's idea of probation.

Just ignoring him is a good idea too. Personally, I just skim through his posts or skip over them completely.

I'm new here, so weigh my opinion accordingly.

Although I'm cool with the probation idea, I think we've all seen that those sorts of things don't seem to stop him. I'm tired of the irrational, incomprehensible, unsupported contrariness that he spills into every conversation he joins. I'm all about differing points of view and good-natured debate, but that's not what he seems to want.

He wants to force his incoherent, flame-war-lighting, pseudo-philosophical bullshit upon us.

Perhaps this just isn't the forum for him.

I say boot the bastard. I haven't been here long, but as far as I've ever seen, Regalsin's the only troublesome person on here. And sure, it's all well and good that he has strong opinions and stands up for them, but he also makes no sense 98% of the time and the other two percent he uses to get all huffy and aggressive when people don't understand his blathering.

After talking it over with the moderators, I have decided to give RegalSin three strikes. Should he reach a third strike, his account will be disabled for two weeks. Should he reach a fourth strike after that, he will be banned.

As spoilsport said, it makes the boards more fun and interesting when people have different viewpoints so that there can be some sort of actual debate. However, there has to be a line somewhere. When you start making racist remarks and defending pedophilia, you're definitely over that line.

Although I will say (and not in a way that disagrees with your solution, just as a general FYI to the members of the forum) that while yes, I could just ignore Regal, the fact that he manages to post to every thread will at some point ruin everything I read on here.

I'm with Spanky on this. I tried just ignoring Regal, but it meant I had to ignore the forums almost entirely, and it was a wonder I started checking this multiple times a day finally!

When someone who has such negative posts leaves these posts not only in every thread, but as virtually every other post in every thread, then ignoring his posts involves ignoring the one or two posts in between his ones. That and most of the posts by other people involve the total bullshit he said. Three strikes is fine and while I'd like to think he's long since exhausted that, those 2 are definately the two most inexcusable posts.

I'm all for forgiveness and stuff, but this guy's used up his and all of our second chances, IMO. Pretty much everyone else on these forums is calm and cool, but Regal is like some kind of anger-themed time bomb. He seems to absort all criticism (no matter how small) and condense it into a big ball of hate and nonsense. And why hasn't he posted in this thread yet?

The four strikes thing seems to be a relatively fair system. Although I think after one or two strikes (considering how extreme a "Strike" has to be), it is enough.

We'll just have to see though. I personally wouldn't mind that much to see him go, his mis-structed posts and creepy avatar surely wouldn't be missed by me...

I have a strong feeling that the anger-spewing bullshit is purposefully done in the interest of trolling the forums, so now he can sit back, watch us debate and talk about this, and pat himself on the back. Personally, I'm for banning him- mining through his posts to find something clear/relevant that isn't complete horseshit is a challenge that I don't feel like dealing with anymore.
