First off the idea of Uncanny Valley is when a model is in a representative state the realistic characteristics will stand out more but if the model is realistic the representative characteristics will stand out.

Now in the CGI Animation world in Video Games and Movies in videogames they have been using represention over realism to gain auidiences. In the Japanese market especially representation is used since detailed characters do not exsists in the outside world or Japanese lifestyles but when it comes to expressions people are highly familiar with this in there daily lives.

For years CGI artisits could make the impossible possible with various computer Animation techniques taking advantage of there companies appliances and making the best out of there own skills.

Now with the expresions and body animation artists in todays world this has come a thing of the past as with movement the Westerners have cut corners for many animations by the use of ( Whatever it is called that they did with Mortal Combat
and Donkey Kong ) then again most Animators are clueless towards some actions like
( Zacks Backflip in Final Fantasy 8 ).

Do you think this is a bad or horrific thing for body movement artists and programers being replaced with old technology being used in the benifit of price in todays CGI animation activities?

By price I mean the power was and is already availible but has been out of the reach of the average consumers. Discuss.

I was really torn by how to cast my vote for this poll... because I had absolutely no fucking idea what it is about. Best damn poll ever. What I think is useless anyway. Fuck the future.

Anybody else want to take a stab at this? Unless I can be conviced otherwise, I'm either going to go Yes or No.

Vote for an added "What the fuck is RegalSin talking about" option.

Or how about "Why is RegalSin's avatar a creepy looking, eyeless Super Mario?"

Care to explain a little further on the topic, I really don't grasp what you're getting at. And no, it's not because these are deep ideas, it's because I could eat alphabet soup and shit a more coherent post. Are you saying that a new animation technique is being abandoned in favor of an old one to cut costs?

It's from a flash movie called "The People's Mario".

The Mario avatar that Regal uses is from a Flash animation that is floating around of the original Mario Brothers NES game in a Socialist concept. It's very well done graphically, but leaves much to be desired plot-wise.

And as for this poll, I have no fucking clue what he's babbling about.

I remember years and years ago, there was a list floating around that mentioned ways in which the original Super Mario Brothers game was really communist propaganda. Is the flash animation based off of this:

http://www.smthop.com/wellplayed/viewpage.asp?LinkID=55

There are a couple of flaws in the argument that Mario is communist. First of all, Mario collects coins just like a good capitalist would. He doesn't collect coins so he can redistribute the Mushroom Kingdom's wealth to the proletariat, mind you, he collects them in order to buy himself extra lives. Secondly, Mario is not a revolutionary; he is a counter-revolutionary. Bowser overthrew Princess Peach and seized control of the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario is simply trying to set things right.

Aside from the cartoons, which aren't canon, little is known about Bowser's backstory. One has to wonder where Bowser got such a sizeable military force. It is highly likely that Bowser was once a general within Peach's government. Often we find in third world countries that generals are able to stage coups because the military is directly loyal to them.

This thread is about how Face animators are being replaced by those ball suit thingys just to animated speech and various movement that would usaully be programed by a face animator, programer, artist, or anybody in the process of doing so.

Not how my avator is resembling the ideal of Hitler saving Her beautiful Germany from Democracy or how Russia freed itself by raping and pillaging there Royal family only to be replaced by another man who had the wrong view of Hitler while doing as the French revolution did.

Just for fun, I translated this into French, then from French to German, then from German back to English using Babel Fish

Not, how mine resembles avator the ideal of the economy of Hitler its beautiful Germany of the democracy, or how Russia freed itself, as hurts it, and by gepluendert there only the royal family who can be replaced from another man to, which the wrong view of Hitler had, by making, how it made the French revolution.

Not much difference, actually.

Awesome, Syd. Very Happy

Actually, could he be writing his posts in some other language and using Babelfish to translate to "English"?

Damn, I was about to go back on topic and make a point, until I realized I actually still have no idea what Regal is talking about.

I was about to say no, and that I suspected Regal was using sarcasm. But then I looked closer... and you know, I think you're right.

And if you factor in that with his weird slam on Jews and from that post a while back...

Um...

HAHAHAHAHA Cool

So wait, this thread is about how animators who do their work by hand are "being replaced" by motion-capture sensor suits? I thought the two could co-exist peacefully, as they have for years?

I think Syd just created a new language/translation process. I shall steal this concept.

"If you will not tell me, I will hurt people!!!" -Nuclear Man

"Do you hear? The alpha and the omega. Death and rebirth. And as you die, so will I be reborn!" - Skeletor
