Don't know if anyone here got into the Pirates of the Spanish Main pocketmodel card game, but now there is something even better:

I have already purchased 3 packs and the Star Destroyer box set. Now I just need someone to play against.

Does it have anything to do with the Star Wars CCG from the 90's?

Nope, it an offshoot of the pirates game. Except this one is more based on ship to ship battles then on treasure collecting.

i used to hav those pirate things! i think i still have a couple in a box somewhere. i just liked putting them together.

I have a ton of the first two sets of Pirates, and I have just got into Star Wars. Some of the Star Wars models are a pain in the ass to get together. Especially the ARC-170 starfighter. The Tie Fighters are extremely easy, and the X-Wings aren't so bad. The Corellian Corvette is just cool, how it goes together.

You could always go with the minis that are pre-painted and plastic from WotC. Although the Starship Battles expansion has some issues with scale since you've got both the Super Star Destroyer and Luke's X-wing as different units.
